Teach Me How to Love the Rescue Ranger
I play Engie, and while the movement thing seems neat, I rely on Shotgun DM a lot . Should I play a more turtle type game with the Rescue Ranger?

it's good when you don't want to get blown up by sticky bombs and rockets while fixing your sentry. Keep the sentry up from a safe distance and bring it over if it's in danger, while shooting enemies from another direction. It's not really a turtle weapon.

Where the RR really shines is Sentry-Jumping to obscure places and then moving all your gear up there double-quick. You can sort-of do that just by quick-switching mid-jump, but it's pretty tricky to time and you can only take one building (typically L3 sentry) with you like that.

The other thing it is solid at is camping far from your nest keeping it topped up with health from a distance; and as soon as a significant threat comes up, you can just move it to safety and hopefully catch the opponent by surprise.

Pairing it with the Wrangler can be a good idea, as you can make up for the lack of primary lethality with the extra DPS from the gun, etc.

It allows you to place dispensers in useful locations instead of the engineer hogging it all by himself for turtling. Use rescue ranger to heal sentries in remote locations so you dont have to constantly use metal. Use teleport when uber or the RR healing cannot keep up with the damage done.

minigun snipes are 5 damage, not 6.

A video showing how to use the RR like he^ said. The maker(s) of this video also made the Engineer Bible, which basically covers all (or at least most) techniques Engineers need to play well, even simple things applicable to all classes.

well i like it solly was rocket humping all over the place so had no choice but to use it got him in 1 crit so ive been using it ever since

He said he killed a Spy in one hit, not it can kill Spies in one hit. Obviously he fired, saw the Spy get killed and went 'Nice, I one hitted a Spy, this is awesome'.
