can the spy have a silent pistol?

it would be nice to have a ranged alternative which won't attract the entire enemy teams attention.

Yes but what I tried to say was. Would you hear the revolver over all of the gunfire? Think about it. Plus, a silent revolvor would just be weird. People would want to change gamefiles to make their gameplay better, and why would you shoot someone with a gun rather than backstabbing them for an instant kill? The revolver is made to combat pyros and is ment to be used when you've been detected.

What do you mean? I had the idea of the spy been able to use a silent pistol just for those occasions where that one lonely player discovers you, or for those times you're lucky enough to see somebody low on health who you can't get close enough to knife. Unlike the ambassador which is actually a damned decent ranged weapon by any standards, or that one which charges your cloak, this one is meant to be a less dangerous, but much more subtle ranged alternative to the revolvers.. With that in mind, I don't know what to make of your reply.

So you're basicly asking for a new weapon just because you play alone? Yep! Reeeeal good reason.

Well, the reason why the Spy uses a revolver instead of a silenced semiautomatic or tranquilizer gun is this-

Revolvers may be unable to be silenced, but they are known for having more power, more reliability and easy to maintain. Which would be valuable for a Spy. After all, what if your gun jammed on you? They only use silenced semiautomatics when they need complete silence and they need to assassinate someone really quietly. Most of the times they use a revolver. Or something that can be broken down easily.

it actually happens quite often if yoou play a big map like 5cp or steel.

A silent revolver would have its use, but a SILENT KILL revolver would be much useful.
