Pubs are where you go to play tf2. They got the usual player which helps you train tf2 and get ready for comp. Who told you pubs suck?

If you like pubs there's no reason not to play on them. Don't let people tell you what to play on.

The only prob with the "Pubs suck" group IMO is that they seem to be under the illusion that if it isn't a valve pub, it doesn't suck... which ignores that if it isn't a competitive server, a non-valve servers will still have the same chance, mix of skilled and crap players,... after all, if it isn't competitive, what incentive does an admin have to kick a playe just for not being a specific class, or not being good - when said player isn't being obnoxious, micspamming, rude, and isn't hacking?

TF2Lobby/TF2Center.
Actually, ignore the previous post. Playing actual competitive games after 150 hours of gameplay isn't the best idea.

Here's a bunch of basic strategies for each class. I'd recommend reading it all if you have enough time for that. As for pubs, there's a greater chance to meet more experienced players on famous youtubers' servers.

Pubs= all skill level
Tf2 Lobby/Center= everyones at least decent(good to have a mic for communication).
Pugs= good players + communication is a must(often)
Competive= next level stuff and a team.
Im thinking of trying center myself but I dont want to be the one without a mic or mumble. Ive decided that once I reach 900hours in tf2 ill get one and start. Because even now pubs are a bit inconsistant...

This is only what ive heard dont quote me on anything.

I usually like to find a good, all around server and stick with it. One that isn't part of a massive server chain like Skial and isn't 24/7 2HIGHBOWL INSTANT RESPAWN is usually best. Unfortunately, quickplay has been killing off servers like that slowly...

Going on non valve pubs often have more good players then f2ps. I suggest going to a firepower server 24 hour round on your favorite map.

I tried tf2 center and I got attacked by elitist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s (kicked because I had 140 hours. Because, you know, that sucks apparently), and failed horribly every round.

Firepowered was empty or was just like any other pub, no communication, and idiots. One had medics making shapes with their beams >_>

Anything else?

140 hours isn't much at all..if you're failing horribly you need to practice in pubs more.

140 is a long time, back to back that's nearly 6 days. Offline isn't good for teaching, since bots behave differently then players, and I already said how great pubs are....how am I supposed to learn in an enviroment where I'm carried or get spawncamped non-stop?

No, not for this game it isn't. I have over 600 hours and I am mediocre at best at this game.
Find a good server with players who are at your skill level or slightly above.

How? No one is telling me that. How? I can't just search "good server"

Emphasis on find. Browse servers. Skial is where I spend the majority of my time and there are some very good players there.
