Why was the Axtinguisher nerfed?
Now we can only use the Powerjack. The Axtinguisher rewarded smart play and punished enemy mistakes, I see nothing wrong with how it used to be.

I hate how Valve listens to them and not people who take the game seriously and know about balance.

Rewarded lighting somebody on fire and hitting them with a melee with an Instant kill on 8/9 classes.

perhaps laggers with their apparent 10-mile melee range were the issue.

It was objectively more powerful than the alternatives, and the alternatives were pretty well balanced vs the majority of melees in the game.

The problem - if there was one (I didn't think it was a big issue) - was that it disguised Pyro's inherant flaws and weaknesses with a technique that, while effective and balanced in the wider context of the game, wasn't particularly engaging or interesting.

I think this was a bad way of going about addressing the Pyro - but I am cautiously optimistic that it's a step towards a rework that makes him viable.

i think with the nerf we have more of a fighting chance against those annoying airblast+flare+axtinguisher

It still does crits from the back tho, also pyro still has stuff like phlog and Scorch Shot, its ok nerf imo.

You already had a chance, just stay out of their way. Pyro is the closest range class in the game.
