The demoman is now the worst close range class in the game.
Every other class except the medic were better at close range combat. Now with the damage nerf on stickies, even the syringe gun is better in close combat than the pipes and/or stickies.

Isn't there a way to nerf the stickies at mid range without making demoman less of a joke than he's always been in close quarters?

also poor in mid range with 20-40 damaging stickies.

Demoman was never close range combat class anyway, unless you count demoknighting of course.

The stickybomb launcher was for making traps, not for spamming. valve did gud.

It's a useful class, for defence, not really offence, but he has impact gernades, which explode upon impact with an enemy, so, yeah, "who cares about killz?! make babbyz moar!!!"

They themselves have said they didn't want it to be only for traps and be perfectly valid offensively.

And then there's the issue of trap-exclusive is really dumb and not worth the class slot.

Scout: run around in circles and shoot
Solly: stay at range and push them away with rockets.

The demoknights stickies have a damage ramp-up now. It takes them 2 seconds to do full damage. In my opinion this is good considering the stickies can do massive damage in just a few seconds. This change just makes the demo more balanced.
