Can TF2 prove science wrong?
Let's face it, if you have >200 hours of TF2 time; you are somewhere on the autism spectrum.

http://archive.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aqtest.html

Take test, post results.

TF2 is a team game, team implies social and autists are scientifically bad at being social. However as if most TF2 players are at least mildly autistic, their ability to play a team game is a slap in the face for perceptions of modern neurology as we know it.

This is what we in the sciences call a 'paradox'. Now it's over to you to show that the paradox exists and science in fact wrong, for science.

I scored 25, slap bang in the middle of normal and aspie.

autistics are not all bed at being social... It can be in some cases, harder to be social but just because its harder doesnt mean they cant be good at it, just more effort is needed on their part... So send your stigma else where deamon

Annnnnd report. Austism is not a problem. For instance, some of us in the spectrem are more inteligent than ignoramuses such as yourself. Now kindly take you and your mental discrimination somehwere where people won't take offense. OH WAIT! PEOPLE ARE ALLWAYS GOING TO TAKE OFFENSE!

How about you actually take the time to learn about these disorders before posting, instead of using the chan and reddit stereotypes as your go-to source of information, hmm?

You're an arsehole!
You realise all some autistic people are self-conscious about their disability?
I hope you burn in hell, you self-centered

I'd like to point out I never mentioned whether Autism is a good or a bad thing, quite literally.

I'd also like to point out that you have all just said that dispelling negative stereotypes is a bad thing. Also that offering a potential forum for people to come together in the means of associating with each other's scores, thus creating a stronger sense of team for the community is a bad thing.

Because, you know, the proving science wrong thing kinda suggests 'let's prove this wrong'.

Why discriminate people who have illnesses, why?
Yes, keep discriminating - but don't come back when these kind of problems happen to you.

Nah 0/10 calling people autistic is not an insult...
Mr. Underscore 15. juni 2014 kl. 11:51
If you fall on the autism spectrum, some academics who may or may not be really out of touch with the real world define you as abnormal. If they're right, who cares? Abnormal doesn't equate to bad. But getting so defensive about it doesn't make you look good.

The original post obviously wasn't meant as an insult. Assuming you are someone who plays video games a lot, there's a high chance that, at some point, someone will call you autistic and actually mean it as an insult. I'd hate to see how you people respond to THAT.

I fail to see the relation between having too much free time and having a condition that affects your mental abilities.

I'd say this thread is doing a great job of what it was actually meant to do.
Lagger (Udelukket) 15. juni 2014 kl. 12:12
You obviously don't know anything about autism.
