Weapons that don't get the love they should (Underused weapon thread MK. ???)
Yup, another one of these. You know what to do.
Personally, I think the Cow Mangler and the Righteous Bison don't get the love they deserve. The Mangler I can understand, but the Bison?
Alright, your turn.

wee wee boots with the new tide turner. the health boost is probably the only upside that the shield cant match.
also the weapons you listed not so much but in MvM, i have seen miracles performed, especially the penetration stat from the bison (the pom used to be superior, but with the new retweak, it doesnt penetrate robots/enemy players.)

I don't hear the Loch-n-Load talked about a lot, it's a really good weapon (well, provided you can aim a Grenade Launcher to begin with. But I guess we have stickies for that anyway!)

What else... oh, the Conniver's Kunai. I think it's a pretty cool weapon, honestly. It's got that really nice risk/reward factor that I absolutely love in a weapon.

the reason is that the loch and load only has two shots and the grenades break if they touch the ground, unless you hit them directly it doesnt do ♥♥♥♥. Plus if thats the case, your better off killing them using stock, as the direct damage impact takes an extra grenade, but if you miss the grenade cont. and if you do make it, youll have one grenade extra to defend incase theres another class nearby
agreed with th kunai, goes great with the dead ringer, or if you do something like kill an engy, if your not fast enough to zapp the sentries, the extra health gives you about 2 extra seconds to zapp or cloak/disquise so you wont die as easily

Kunai is legitimately good for decent spies, but there's a reason you don't see the LnL used often. Basically speaking, if you're good enough to hit direct pipes, the stock grenade launcher is better. While that extra 25% damage may seem good, the amount of time spent reloading and the lack of shots loaded mean you essentially have 250% damage per magazine (which only work if they direct hit something) vs. the stock grenade launchers 400% damage per magazine (and the pipes work even if they don't hit anything directly).

So, the Loch-n-Load is suddenly a terrible weapon?
Because, y'know, it's not like any of the actually skilled players can take advantage of the damage bonus the Loch-n-Load gives. And it's not like the projectile speed increase makes a difference either. No, definitely use the stock!

The damage bonus is obsolete. You sacrifice 150% of your damage per loaded clip for a little extra projectile speed - projectile speed that can be compensated for by being proficient with the grenade launcher.

The Loch-n-Load is just a poorly skill-indexed broken crutchy unlock that allows Demos to randomly one shot light classes (specifically his counter class)

If you have decent prediction pills there is next to no reason to run it if you're serious about improving you Demoman gameplay. The damage bonus can't be taken advantage of that much because you're likely to get more damage out of stock if you're skilled enough.

no, but because of its shatter downside, its more of a downgrade to stock
it is good for countering its counter classes, such as scouts and soldiers, as well as taking down a sentry gun faster and more efficiently.
but im just saying, 1 to 1, the stock is usually used more because
A not alot of people are good with getting direct impact grenade shots (unless they stand still like brass beast heavies or sentries, they will be moving around. the speed helps, but they can still avoid it rather easily)
B for reason A, if they miss, the stock grenade cont. even if it hits a surface, and doesnt lose momentum or damage, unlike the loch and load, it shatters, and does no damage as well as makes you lose a grenade for nothing.
C if you are good with direct hits, might as well use the stock, since it takes 3 shots to say kill a normal heavy direct impact and 2 with the loch and load, but if you shoot those 3 shots correctly, you will have 1 grenade left so that you can do damage to another class, lets say a pyro was near the heavy and goes after you. You will be defenseless reloading the loch and load as compared to the stock. At least you can do some damage with the extra grenade to the pyro.

I very rarely see Demomen use the stock bottle or some equivalent for melee, but honestly it's the only weapon that I'll use alongside a grenade launcher and stickybomb launcher other than the Pain Train if I'm capping and don't mind the bullet vulnerability or the Ullapool Caber sometimes if I happen to be in the mood. If I'm not focusing on melee, I'd rather not be brought down by the downsides all the others have, and I think it's ridiculous when I see Demomen using the Eyelander without a shield.

even then, im sure people use the scottish handshake for the retextured look.

its good for the low classes/sentry guns that you want to take down really quickly (you can use stock but people/engies can react faster). Still, for player vs player, its better to use stock

Well, I am talking about the Scottish Handshake too, I'm specifically talking about the stock or any retexture. I still think what little I see of the stock bottle I see way more often than the Scottish Handshake.
