Words you say to introduce a new player to Team Fortress 2
Mine will go like

"Welcome to Team Fortress 2, where hats determine your skill level, and you'll waste most of your savings on buying virtual items to decorate your classes."

Welcome to TF2, hats are worth 1 scrap while weapons are worth 3 refs each. Trade with me only.

Ah, this can only be said with experience. I've been there.

"Keys are best not used for unboxing crates, they are best used for trading. But if it's a special key like a strongbox key or a robocrate key, then go ahead and unbox."

That's what i would say.

EDIT: Come on, someone has to quote this.

Why does everyone say that?
It just affects your overall reputation.
It's like MMORPGS when you stand around in the most highend looking armor in skrub city.

A wise person once told me
"Confidence = Skill. Hats = Confidence. Therefore Hats = Skill

I'd go at it from the other side, actually.
People see good hats "OMG HE MUST BE PRO" and lose confidence.

I wonder why no one else understands this? I have played against hatless guys who bashed the crap out of me. Obviously, when you see someone with an unusual then you think "Oh look, he has an unusual he must know this game well", but it still won't tell you anything about the actual skill level of the player.
No more potatoes pls. Jul 21 @ 7:07am
