Any hope for pyro?
First, before you say anything, shut up the pyro has lower dps at point blank with the flamethrower than with the shotgun. Do you think that valve will ever buff the pyro? hes seriosuly underpowered.

he needs something like a debuff to fire, seriously like big time, a debuff would help him, still make it possible to get rid of afterburn, but give more reasons to rely on it.

afterburn idea:health packs dont extinguish afterburn, and it takes 30 seconds to go out on its own. theres already plenty of ways to extinguish.

the issue being if medkits don't extinguish then stock loadouts become waaay more difficult to survive vs a pyro, which would then make him OP instead of UP, it really is difficult to find a way to balance him in... maybe a slight bit more damage on the burn? that way even if they reach the kit it does decent damage?

I once opened a thread about how to simultaneously nerf stickies and buff pyro. It just kinda died out before we could go up against opposition.
The idea was situationally airblastable stickies, which the pyro could control, but only if the demo had freshly shot them.

Incorrect; absolute burn damage is 60hp; under nearly all circumstances the healing from a healthpack will allow you to survive that much damage without an extinguish. It's only mortally injured light classes picking up light medipacks who'd die anyway; everyone else getting a light is very likely to survive, and everyone getting a medium or better is guaranteed to survive.

OP suggested 30 seconds. Then absolute burn damage is 180 hp. Obviously that raises bigger issues.

but scorch shot, that weapon would need a massive rework, or it would be spam city....

i got idea:increase speed by 10%.20% less damage from fire. health packs dont work, but still, its just 10 seconds. backburner has 20% more range. the degreaser takes less cost to airblast, and every flamethrower except the degreaser gets 40% more damage, and if he is touching the class itl do 30% more damage. dmg..the phlog doesent give 75% resist when its doing mmph, but the airblast problem is just airblast takes a whopping 100 ammo. both shotguns have 20% tighter spread. airblast speed is ramped up to just bareley the speed a demo can shoot pipes, or the other way around.the powerjacks downside is only blast restist, and its a complete overheal if full health on kill, but it only gives 10% faster speed. flares move 30% faster, and deal double damage to buildings.they also do 30% more crit damage. the axtinguisher crits again, and gives 5% more switch speed. just 5%, but still switch speed. spycicle doesent work while cloaked, but gives 10% faster speed for 5 seconds when it gets melted maybye. every pyro meelee, as well as the flare guns, do 15% more damage. airblast launches enemies higher, and at slightly slower speeds, but due to the height it goes as far still.
