Minor Spy Question
I tend to play spy more than any other class(100+ hours), and like most spy players, i get those rounds where i get caught and only kill 1-2 people, and those rounds i get 5-10 kills. But i tend to find myself playing the role of the aggressive spy; that is, I will kill a group(3-5) of targets (Soldiers, Heavies, Demos, Mix) and then get killed escaping. Is that a bad thing? I find that waiting to kill the targets means that they get to kill more of my teammates, and if i can kill them first, i am supporting my team. I use Invis Watch to get behind them, it works better for me, but is there some flaw in this strategy of mine? I mean, i prioritize medics when i see them, but i tend to kill whatever i find. Is this strategy of mine bad?

What do you mean?

Killing a group is fine, dying after killing a group is fine. Check your position on the scoreboard, if you're killing enough routinely enough you'll be quite high if not MVP; if you're not killing enough to be helping team you'll be quite low.

TF2's an action game, killing the enemy always helps your team.

Just remember to make key-picks along the way; it's more important you nail Sentry nests than you kill a handful of players elsewhere, it's more important you nail the highpriority targets than a couple of derp-a-derp outliers.

Generally you want to focus HIGH damage dealers, that being the Demo, Heavy, and Sniper. Although if you see a medic on a demo or Heavy, go for him. if you miss, you can simply still go for the demo/heavy. They tend to tunnel vision alot in battles. But never pass up a glorious med pick. Those are the best.

TF2 is about reponsibility and cooperation with teammates. It is ideal to kill things like Snipers, Pyros, Engineers, Heavies and Medics, and leave soldiers and demos to be slain by teammates, thus making it so you have a lower risk of death by explosives. Don't quote me, Spy is my second-least-played-class.

I play payload alot, and thats where i shine. On offense, i dont kill anyone right out of spawn as its too much spam, instead i invis back to destroy the teleporter and stab targets out of spawn. Once the game gets further on, i continue to destroy the teleporter and (at least attempt) kill targets attacking my team pushing the cart. I will also make a last-second push thanks to my invisibility if needed. My weapon switch is absolutely horrible, and i can never switch to my sapper in time to stab-n-sap, so i tend to try sap-n-stab and stabbing stuff while the owner is away, shooting it with my revolver to make sure it doesnt get back up.
On Defense, I start the round trying to kill Soldiers, Heavies and Medics that come out of spawn, but the medics are rare as most deploy their uber before i can stab. Further into the round, i take down their teleporter as much as possible and try to stab opponents coming out of spawn and on the cart. Of course, my priorities throughout the round is this:
Top:
Medics
Heavies
Middle:
Engineers
Soldiers
Demomen
Snipers
Bottom:
Scouts
Spies
Pyros

I know right. That moment when a medic loses his uber and potentially the game.

My weapon switch is absolutely horrible,

Bind a key to each weapon slot; I've got my thumb-button on my mouse set to Sapper. Being able to switch weapons efficiently's important for most classes; but for the Spy - where windows of backstab opportunity crop up quite randomly, or you get rumbled and need to switch to a Revolver quickly - it's pretty essential.

Remember that you have to stab-n-sap from outside the Sentry's FOV, it's the rotation speed on the Sentry that buys you the time.

It sounds like you have the basics covered, but check out my guide anyway:

You might find something that gives you some inspiration in the Spy section; but if you check the Scripting section you can see a few of my Spy-scripts that simplify stuff (auto-redigusing, picking random disguises on-the-fly, etc) and can save you some button-presses, and if you check the "How to kill Sentry Guns" section you can see the various ways you can take apart a Sentry Nest as Spies in the video.

It's actually generally better to leave people that are on the front lines that your team can get rid of, (Soldiers, Demos, Scouts) unless you know they can wreck your team's defense. Go for the people that are defending or will cause much trouble to your team. (Engineers, defending Demomen, Snipers, Heavies, Medics) And leave classes like Pyro and Spy alone unless you KNOW you an kill them. Going for people on the front lines will usually get you killed because they are almost always traveling in groups or are very aware of their surroundings.
