Medieval Mode - Let's talk about it!
As we all know, Medieval Mode has recently been added to the quickplay roster!
I personally enjoyed seeing the return of such a unique gamemode, but i want to know what you think!

-What is your opinion of Medieval Mode?

-Do you think Medieval Mode is a balanced gamemode? If not, what could valve do to fix it?

-Would you be interested in an update based around Medieval Mode?

-What do you want to see in Medieval Mode in the future? A new map? More eligable weapons?

Hark! Verily! Discuss!

Played it last night again after a long hiatus from it and had fun boxing, but it's too braindead-stupid for me to take seriously as a game mode. Since it's official again I'll probably end up playing it as a way to wind down after a long session of a game mode I actually consider more serious.

1. Personally, I view the game mode as a rather interesting thing.

2. I'm not sure as to whether or not it's a balanced one for every classes though.

3. An update would be fine too. There's nothing wrong with an update with maps or things like that. But one's view of an update may vary.

4. A new map would be nice. Weapons that are based on said game mode would be an interesting inclusion too. I looked forward to any new things that will come for TF2 & its game modes.

It's pretty cool. Not any sort of serious gameplay, but a since gamemode to screw around somewhat, kind of like plr.

Would be nice to see some map variety, though.

It is a very decent gamemode, the idea of having melee weapons, crossbows, bow and arrow, gives it that Medieval Vibe.

I guess it is balanced? I'm not sure but meh.

It would be nice to have an update based on Medieval Mode.

I would love to see a new map based on this mode, it would be great if Valve were to make another map. New weapons would be awesome. I love to see what Valve has to offer, aside from skins, more like maps, cosmetics, and probably contracts.

Demofags shouldn't have guranted crit from shield charge. 90 damage from impact is already take down 50% health for most classes, not to mention high mobility. Why not just remove crit and minicrit from shield charges and leave only shield impact damage for Medieval mode? It's balanced and will give other classes chance to compete.

The map is literally named DeGroot Keep, so it's fair that the Demoknight is at an advantage. If anything is overpowered, it's the classes that still have ranged weaponry, if even.

Demoknights aren't even that hard to deal with, all things considered. Just keep on your toes.

Personally, i sort of disagree with this. In a gamemode that is dominated by melee combat, the demoknight and his booties, shields, and many double-length melee weapons boasts a clear, overpowering advantage to at least six of the other classes.

Added in the fact that the demoman has the highest mobility in medieval mode, and can literally fly over the DeGroot Keep's castle walls whenever he wants.

He's a really fancy class, but he's still as vulnerable in melee combat as ever when not charging.
I ended up camping the top of the castle as a red Backscratcher Pyro to catch them trimping, and most of the time they were otherwise pretty standard fights.

I still think melee needs an upgrade, the melee system in TF2 is broken at best.

That's probably because this is a game about using guns to shoot bad-guys.

I wonder if anyone's ever tried making a community update based on Medieval mode? Maybe with all the limelight, we'll see something after Mayann?

I simply think deGroot Keep is just unbalanced as crap, where BLU caps all three points in two minutes while it's too difficult to simply defend on RED. If the map was balanced so that RED had a stronger ability to at least hold on to the points for a while, it'd be a lot more fun.

Other than that, medieval is a great gamemode.

BLU has the advtantage on every map, the only way for RED to successfully defend is for BLU to just be full of terrible players.
