So when will they nerf the Tide Turner?
Valve might as well have just removed the shields and booties, because that's essentially what they did. It massively outclasses every other shield and lets you completely stomp a team, especially if you have the Half-Zatoichi. The second that you one-hit someone, you get replenished health and charge meter. It's like fighting a BFB scout with more health/resistances, full crits and more health regen than a Call of Duty game (hint: it's impossible). The endless stream of charges and crits that you get simply for using the shield is massively overpowered. It needs to have 50% less charge and only half recharge rate, otherwise it's far too strong.

I hope they just buff the wee booties.

It really needs a nerf, maybe use more charge the more you turn because I'm sick of demoknights doing 180 turns around multiple corners then instakilling me

I use splendid screen, and i pretty much destroy all tide turner users if we are both charging at eachother. Splenidid screen+ Booties is still different from Tide Turner in general, so I think booties should stay how they are for other shield users, and Charge n' targe is still best for resistances.

Using an average players POV against less than average to average players is not a good indication of whether or not a weapon is broken/OP. I can literally pub with the Scottish Resistance or even Lobby and make it seem viable when it's actually trash (although the TT isn't trash).
Or maybe just lower the turning control so the boots aren't useless.

If you miss a charged swing with the Half Zatoichi, then you're screwed. Good luck doing anything when you're encounting any type of knockback with the Zatoichi out.

But seriously, how hard can it be to miss a swing when you have complete turning control? All you have to do is bash them, then press M1.

All it takes is one good pyro or sentry gun to ruin your day. Happens to me countless times. :(

Let's see, ariblasts, any kind of sentry, a bonk! scout, a well timed uber, and don't forget that a charging demo is an easy headshot. I've regularly airblasted demoknights into corners and sprayed them with flames and airblast :p

Why not buff the other shields?

Don't charge in a straight line when a sniper is about. You shouldn't be headshotted that easily since you're moving 750 hammer units (that's faster than a scoot). Take advantage of that.

you do know you need the booties to make the tide turner right? by that logic its basically an upgrade. also never until they make another shield

To make the boots more viable (it's useless right now), change its stats to this:
Ali Baba's Wee Booties
If a shield item is equipped:
+25 max health on wearer
+10% move speed on wearer
Kills while charging refill 100% of your charge meter

And also change the Tide Turner's stats to this (remove the 100% charge on kill):
The Tide Turner
+25% fire damage resistance on wearer
+25% explosive damage resistance on wearer
Full turning control while charging

Problem solved, no more madbads whining.

This is precisely the reason why I prefer Eyelander and Claidheamh Mór with the TT. Just because STAR_ made Half-Zatoichi look good doesn't mean it's actually good.
