You need to buy items from mann.co store.

You bought it from community market, not from Mann Co. Store, so it didn't count. You must buy it either from Mann Co. Store or item pages on Official TF2 Wiki.

Well great. Things there cost like 3 times as much. I originally made the money to buy stuff by selling other stuff, and only made around 50 cents. I guess ill be waiting until christmas.

I already had 3 drops in my carreer.

The premium account type is an account that had a copy of Team Fortress 2 purchased prior to June 23, 2011, obtained by:

Buying a retail or digital copy of The Orange Box.
Activated the game by making a purchase from the Mann Co. Store or Mann Co. Online Store.

The premium account type does not have newer restrictions on obtaining and storing items, nor on standard gameplay. Players who purchased Team Fortress 2 prior to June 23, 2011 or activated the retail version of The Orange Box were also rewarded with the Proof of Purchase, a cosmetic item for all classes.
