short circuit rework idea
I love the short circuit, but even I am not blind to realize how OP it is against any class that uses projectiles. hell you can delete the crossbow bolts, huntsman arrows, dragons fury shots(buggy), rockets, pipes, stikys, scouts ball, scouts cleaver(hard as hell), and some times the♥♥♥♥♥♥jar(buggy).

its a bit OP against spies as well.

suggestion: remove the primary and make the secondary use a charge mechanic, the longer the charge the more metal it costs and damage it does but tapping no longer destroys projectiles.


tap: single 20 damage stun arc can not destroy projectiles (costs 10 metal nomater what)

hold: if charged for 3 seconds fires 5, 10 damage arcs that can destroy projectiles but comes at the cost of 45 metal instead of 10. (cheaper then spamming, and more damage but msut be timed well)

it's not op, a lot of this stuff listed is very hard to pull off or just meant to counter said class

yeah but when I can sit infront of a dispenser and hard block 5 demomen its abit sad.

at most it can hard block 1 demoman for like 2 seconds because i'm pretty sure said projectile weapons fire faster, and either way they can just bait you or get a second person to force you in a sticky situation

5 very stupid demomen then, one of them shooting at a different pace can just end your existance

All you really need to counter the short circuit is an ubercharge, which the sentry is already countered by, killing the Engineer before he's able to use it or while he's distracted using it (because you can't Spy-check and null projectiles) or heck, just put a sapper on his buildings while he's distracted and just shoot him because the SC sucks in direct combat. Or you could even send in two Soldiers or Demos to make it harder for him to delete the projectiles.

The Short Circuit's fine where it is. It's the Wrangler that's the biggest issue with Engy atm.

SC is actually pretty good at taking out spies before the sapper can take out the sentry.

keep in mind ubers require a bit of co-op work with a team which is rare in pubs and valve comp. and a good engineer is pretty much tied with a good spy at countering each other.

all points are situational.

Then it would be useless. The best way to balance the Wrangler is make the shield only tank 50% more damage isntead of 66% and you cannot heal it at all while it's being wrangled (or recovering).

Sure, if you see the Spy coming and start zapping him first. But if he saps Engie's sentry first, then Spy has the advantage assuming the Engineer doesn't already have the stock shotty, FJ, PA, or Widowmaker ready to fire. And if he does try to use the SC thinking he can out-dps the Revolver, then he's an idiot and deserves to wait 15 seconds to respawn.

Well, yeah. That's the nature of ubers, and the nature of Valve pubs. But regardless you need
team coordination to take out a well-placed sentry. And the lack of that coordination (especially in a pub where that can be impossible to achieve sometimes) doesn't make Engineer or the Short Circuit anywhere near overpowered. If you can't get that coordination going in a pub, then tough luck. It's on your entire team, not him or necessarily you.

then I am an idiot that has killed way more spies then any engineer with the SC should. (seriously on 2fort I get atleast 2 per freaking life on most matches... which is sad)

its really freaking easy to see a spy comming you see a class headding for hte level 3 you zap them cause 9 times out of 10 it is a spy and they are stupid.
