Question about Premium and the Proof of Purchase

I really want the Proof of Purchase, the only ways currently to get it are to purchase the Orange Box(Digital or Retail) or redeem a CD-Key for TF2. I currently own every game in the Orange Box, but I am able to purchase it if I remove one of the games from my account. I've heard rumors that you will not get the Proof of Purchase hat if you have a Premium TF2 account. So, if I remove Premium from my account will I be able to regain it if I make a purchase on the Mann Co. Store? Will I automatically get premium with my Orange Box purchase? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

The proof of purchase can be gained by buying the valve complete pack on steam.

Unfortunately that is no longer true, Valve last year removed TF2 from the Complete Pack.

I don't think it's really worth going through all that trouble just to receive one mediocre hat. It looks good on Pyro and... that's it.

As for your question, you can't "disable" Premium on TF2 by just unchecking the Premium DLC in Library.

The only solution I can think of is using an entirely new account, buy the Orange Box and redeem the code. But the hat's untradable so there's no point doing so. I'd suggest finding another hat.

You can actually remove Premium from account by contacting support, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it again.

And why the hell would you want to do that, all for just ONE hat. As I already stated, I'd suggest giving up on it and finding an alternative.

tbh I just want it for the novelty of having it, I have just about every other promo item, and it helps complete my collection.

That's weird... Because I got TF2 first, and then when I got the Complete Pack a year ago on Christmas, I got the PoP. Maybe I'm misreading something here.

That would explain why, Valve removed TF2 from the complete pack on April 28th of 2016.
