[READ THIS FIRST] FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Hi there!

There have been quite a lot of recurring topics (you guys have flooded my Steam notifications since I subscribed to this game's forums), so I'll try to centralize frequently asked questions and their answers here.
Feel free to post questions you have seen that were frequently asked but that I've missed.
Please don't ask for support here and create a new thread instead. (You can still ask for precisions (or leave some here) though, especially since those can be added back into the answers for a better quality help. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, too.)

Hope that helps!

God Eater Resurrection

Q: Was God Eater Resurrection a pre-order exclusive bonus only?
A: No. It comes bundled (for free) along with God Eater 2 Rage Burst.

Q: I've just bought the game but can't find God Eater Resurrection. Help?
A: Restarting the Steam client should solve the problem. If that still doesn't solve it, try restarting your computer. If after that, it still does not appear in your library, you might want to contact Bandai Namco, there seems to be an issue with some third-party retailers' keys due to a different activation ID.

Pre-order bonuses and other DLC

Q: Does the game include DLC from the console version?
A: Yes it does, all of it; except of course for the pre-order DLC if you didn't pre-order the PC version.

Q: I missed the pre-order, can I still get the pre-order costumes and accessories?
A: You can apparently still buy the game and those outfits on Gamesplanet (official reseller), but you won't be able to refund if you want to do so for whatever reason. Don't quote me on this though (aka "I take no responsibility if they now sell regular keys").
Bandai Namco is also apparently considering releasing them as DLC (like they did for Tales of Zestiria pre-order items) if there is enough demand, so voice your interest for them! (In already existing threads though, please, like this one.)

Q: I can't find the pre-order bonuses in Resurrection.
A: Don't worry, it's normal, they're only for Rage Burst.

Q: I can't find the pre-order bonuses in Rage Burst.
A: Try going to the vending machine or crafting them. Some are available through the "Hairstyle" section in the terminal. (I'm not sure about this one, I still have to play the game. Sorry.)

Q: The game told me the Gintama outfits were now available, but I can't find them anywhere. Is that a bug?
A: They're not in this version, due to licensing issues.

Technical issues

Q: I'm playing on a powerful enough laptop and my framerate is bad, what should I do?
A: The game might actually be running on your IGP (like an Intel HD Graphics one) instead of on your GPU. Right-click on your desktop, go into your GPU's control panel, add the game to the list and set it to run on your GPU. (Always check this when you get a port or a game that doesn't take up a lot of resources.)

Q: I'm playing on a quite good laptop but I have a black screen, what should I do?
A: Try the same thing as above, that might help. If this doesn't work, still in the GPU's control panel, test messing with the display modes (single screen, multi-display and compatibility) to see if it solves the problem.

Q: I still have a black screen. What gives?
A: Go to C:\Users\<Your username>\AppData\Local\BANDAI NAMCO GAMES (or wherever your user folder is, followed by \AppData\...), enter the folder for GER or GE2RB and open "config.ini" with the notepad. Go into the GFX section and look for the "Fullscreen" line, then replace "Fullscreen=1" by "Fullscreen=2".

Q: Everything is foggy, the logo is white... What can I do?
A: Nothing, that issue comes from compatibility issues with some Intel HD Graphics IGPs. Except if you have a dedicated GPU, then you can switch over to it (and have better performances anyways). If you only have an IGP though, update its drivers (look for them on Intel's website, just check for which one is included with your CPU beforehand) and it should work.

Q: My game keeps crashing when it's about to play a video, what's the deal?
A: It's a codec issue.
Solution 1: If you already have LAV filters installed, remove them through Windows' control panel -> uninstall programs, or blacklist both games (don't ask me how though, there's a search function although I might add a link later). If you don't have them, try to install them, since it seems to help in some cases. If that breaks the sound of the game, check solution 2 out.
Solution 2: Make a fresh codec install with K-lite. That should fix it.

Q: I'm having heavy graphical distortions, what can I do about this?
A: Enable vsync and it should work just fine.

Q: I'm using a 120Hz/144Hz monitor and set the refresh rate accordingly in the options yet the game plays at 60 frames per second, is that normal?
A: Yes it is. The framerate is capped at 60fps, this setting helps improving the input delay (from what I understood).

Q: I've just installed the game but my Xbox 360 / Xbox One controller won't work, yet it does on every other single game. How do I get it to work?
A: Restart your computer, that should do it.

Q: I have a DualShock 4 v2 but the game displays numbers instead of the PS4 icons, any help?
A: It seems that the DualShock 4 is properly recognized as a PlayStation 4 controller but not the DS4v2, at the moment... You might want to play the game using Steam Big Picture's feature that allows you to emulate an Xbox 360 controller thus play with Xbox prompts.

Q: The sound loops badly... Can I do anything about this?
A: Definitely, but it will require to change a few files. Just check this comment out, and it should fix most if not all of the broken music tracks.

Online multiplayer issues

Q: I can't find anyone online, is the game region-locked?
A: Yes, online play depends on the Steam download server you're connected to. You can change this through Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> Download server, if you want to check some other regions out. You might want to use "LAN Event" servers, too.
Also note that you won't be able to see rooms where a mission is in progress.

Q: I keep getting disconnected when playing online, what can I do?
A: A workaround seems to make everyone confirm right after the host does. Another one for crashes seems to be to disable the in-game chat. Until it's fixed, you should try these, that might help.

Q: I keep getting stuck in an infinite loading screen, can you help?
A: A solution seems not to use three-star support cards and to let the host leave the reward screen first or something like this.

Q: Can I play any mission with anyone online?
A: From what I understood, yes.

"Does the game support <insert element here>?"

Q: Does this game have a fixed rendering resolution, or does it support resolutions up to, let's say, 4K?
A: There's no locked display resolution, and the game indeed supports resolutions above 1080p, though I haven't tried myself hence don't know if you can reach resolutions beyond 4K.

Q: Does this game support ultrawide (21:9) screens?
A: Considering it's a console port, no. At least, not yet, but "mods" (injectors actually) should work.

Q: Does this game really support the DualShock 4?
A: Yes. Just make sure to disable any software that could interfere with the native DS4 recognition though.

Denuvo-related questions

Q: Is that true this game uses Denuvo?
A: Yes. Please don't debate this here though, there are already huge threads about this.

Q: Will Denuvo ever be officially removed then?
A: That, I don't know. You can still ask Bandai Namco, there's a chance they might answer.

Questions about the Japanese dub

Q: Is it true the game doesn't have the original Japanese dub?
A: Yes.

Q: Why that?
A: It's presumably one or more of the original voice actors not giving his/her/their greenlight. Again, you can still try to ask Bandai Namco.

Q: Will it ever be added into the game?
A: From the looks of it (aka the suppositions that have been made), it sounds compromised. But the game itself is intact. It should soon be possible to add them back, though not officially, if you see what I mean... Just in case, this thread contains newer links...

Question about censorship

Q: Is it true the game has been censored for the Western release?
A: No, it's the same as the Japanese version. The only thing that changed is that the blood got slightly toned down compared to God Eater Burst on PSP (from what I got).

Comparison with the console versions

Q: Is this a port? If yes, from what platform?
A: Yes it is, from a PlayStation Vita / PlayStation 4 game (the port is based on the latter version). The only difference is that here you get 60fps and specific PC settings, plus GER should always be bundled with GE2RB (which is not the case for Vita/PS4 outside of Europe).

Q: Does it have cross-play with the PS4 and Vita versions?
A: No. The PC version is using Steamworks for matchmaking, the PlayStation version the PlayStation Network. It's also rumoured it's also because of the framerate difference, which might be why the PS4 version runs at 30fps.

Q: Can I transfer my save data from the PSP version-
A: No. It uses a different file system for saves, and even if you did manage to make your save "compatible", the fact GER is a remastered edition means you might not be able to use it. Though I've read a report of a save import from GER's Vita version, but that implies using a hacked Vita.

Troll questions

Q: This game is for weebs, isn't it?
A: Or enthusiasts of monster hunts.

Good thread, this should be stickied. Though I am pretty sure all missions are playable, but again who knows. If you can start from mission 1 with co-op chances are it can be done all the way through, though I think you missed out on the question about if pre-order bonus applies to both games.

Whoops you're right, I'm going to add that, plus "I set my game to 144Hz but it's still playing at 60fps".

Updated. Also shamelessly bumping.

Let's not cut the idea of the Japanese voices out entirely - they left the files exposed, we just don't know if we have a method of packing the existing dub files in a way that will work with the game. Basically, it doesn't look like we can't do it (like, it's not blocked from us) but it doesn't look like it's going to be easy, either.

Yeah, I know it might be modded in at some point, but I just don't want to say it in the main post, because you never know (it might for instance not get pinned though it could be useful for reference) <.<

Any hints for using a DualShock 4 controller? It doesn't seem to natively work, while xbox ce and ds4tools doesn't seem to help either. Computer definitely reads the inputs, the game recognises that the controller exists but it doesn't read any of its inputs.

From what I've read it should work natively, just disable any software that could interfere with the game's recognition of the controller.

bump because of importance

You know I've been thinkng, this should also be on the Resurrection forums too, since people would go there instead of 2 if they are playing it

I like this. Should help with a bunch of questions people have
BeastSlayer Aug 31, 2016 @ 8:26am
Dammit, Denuvo + no original voice, this is really a deal breaker for me.

Very helpful post, thanks.

BUMP

And a question that maybe should get added to the list:
Is it a port and from which system?

Great thread for probably one of the best ports this year!

You mentioned that Bandai Namco is apparently considering releasing the pre-order bonuses as DLC,
mind linking a thread where I can support it?

I can't find Resurrection, where it should appear? In my library?
