AOF3 BUGS & OTHER ISSUES
Hi all,


For a start - we have really did lots of beta-testing and squashed lots of bugs. But there will be issues and some rough edges - AOF series is a bloody complex system of systems and I am sure we didn't get everything right.

Please report any issues or technical error here - we will fix them quickly, maybe even the same day if possible. The game files layout was refactored and patches size should be between 20-30MB, thus it should be more tolerable.

I just hope there won't be any game-breaking bugs!


Reported bugs:
  • Toxic Spores could get permanent wounds - FIXED
  • Non-expiring Confusion (after eating Cave Mushroom) - FIXED
  • Ensnared unit could escape - FIXED
  • Non-editable gold limit in multi-player games - FIXED
  • Cleave on static objects generates attack - FIXED
  • Tooltip exactly under mouse pointer - FIXED
  • Berserker standing next to destroyable objects couldn't move - FIXED
  • Tooltip not fittingin window https://imgur.com/VtpABsM - TODO
  • Enter not finishing turn - FIXED
  • Clicks not registering (mouse too sensitive) - FIXED
  • the appearing dialogues do not allow to continue the serial shooting (Tesla) - FIXED

Another patch just went in
Here is some little annoying thing - in battle ended mode, if unit with cleave destroys object, cleave icon shows and he is no longer able to attack objects untill you press turn end.

Gotcha!
Actually those are two bugs: Cleave overflowing attacks counter and Cleave working on static objects.

Fixed & will go in the next patch.

Here is another thing - mouse over tooltip popup draws right under the mouse pointer, preventing button click, it should probably appear slightly offset to the side of the mouse pointer.

hmmm... actually this one depends on full-screen/windowed mode and your Windows system version. Clicking on tooltip closes it

I will take a look at it.
I'm running fullscreen with default settings on windows 10 if that helps.

A few things in my dwarf run. Units with berserker standing next to destroyable objects coudn't move, unless they destroyed the object. I acquired so many abilities on Fin the mage, that the tool bar coudn't display them (2 rows max), so later in the game I was unable to use some of his skills. Not sure about the last one - Is Lighning Strike upgrade on Battle Animated Armour only suposed to change its attack type to lighning? Or is it suposed to add extra lightning damage? Was the former for me.

  • If there are too many skills on tool bar, you can open unit menu (right click on unit) - I have tried to fit more skills there, but toolbar was like X-Mas tree

  • Lightning Strike upgrades attack and it's counted as lightning attack, but it won't change damage animation.

Just fixed berserker and as a bonus - all static objects containing items will be marked

Fixed non-registering clicks.
I will need someone to verify as it doesn't happen on my laptop
Not fixed for me, not sure how you can not reproduce it - slide mouse over main menu button, the description popup appers and blocks the click. Moving mouse does not move popup, and it's border starts right under mouse pointer. Just ancor popup window to mouse movements and offset it two pixels right and two pixels bottom so it never would block the click.
Just tested it with different configurations - it happens only in full screen mode. Windowed mode tolltip is indeed moved away from pointer so it does not interfere anymore.

Arghh! Ok, I think I know what might be happening :-)

Actually detecting where click has took place is not that simple in Windows.
Bill decided that those should be relative to window, then offset by windows top bar hight and then relative to component. It's a bit complex. I will need to work on that a bit.
