Few questions..
..about the story and whatnot.

I haven't played the earlier Metro games, so picking this one up, what (if anything) will i miss for not playing through the other games first?

Will the story still make sense or will it filled with 'huh?' moments, references to earlier events, so on?

As i own the first game on Steam, but never gotten around to playing it.. got Dying Light & Bioshock Infinite for 'free' last month and since i just finished Bioshock, been thinking about starting Dying Light.

But i'm iffy about the lack of past event knowledge, no idea how disjointed the game'll be so help me out here folks.. how viable is it to start with Dying Light?

i started with last light but it does heavily reference & have to do w/ the last game. i'm not sure what 2033 is priced at but if youre comfortable paying for it i would go ahead as it is also a fantastic (arguably better) game. LL is fine as a standalone though & i di dnt have trouble following the plot. it will just be more intimate if you have played 2033.

Definitely play 2033 first. Last has the same characters and is a direct continuation of the plot of 2033. You could play LL and understand it, although you won't be as attached to the story, and it's a great story. I think you would be missing out if your didnt play 2033 first.

Dying light? Last Light you mean, anyways its highly recommened to start with Metro 2033 first since it gives you the basic understand of the general story and timeline and other events. After you complete 2033 start Last Light.

Dying Light, Last Light.. heh, knew it was one or the other.. again shows i shouldn't post stuff middle of the night as get my details all mixed up.

But yeah, 2033 be a better start point?

Hm, i do have that so perhaps i'll give it a go.. not like this game is going anywhere before i finish the first one.

EDIT: I'm an idiot, again goes to show that multitasking while posting is NOT a good idea for me.

Oh and one another thing.. what about Clear Sky?

Does that game have any relevance when it comes to the overall story?
The Stalker series are not related to the Metro series so it doesn't do anything story wise in Metro.

Oh lol.. i knew that, sheesh, where is my damn mind these days?

Doing three things at once and of course i mix up the damn series.. bleh.. look at one thing, think that, then see another, ask question on that, then try to do something else and.. yeah.. good times ensue.

Anyways, thanks for the replies folks.. i'll take a loot at 2033, since i do own it.. see if i can get it off the ground, so to speak before i start up Last Light. ^^
