2560x1080 fail
Changing to 2560x1080 resolution fails. It seems to work at first as it asks if you want to keep this resolution, but when you agree, the screen goes black. Game is still running (you can hear the music and it seems to respond to input) but you cant see anything.

Does your monitor definitely support that resolution and refresh rate? That has all the hallmarks of a screen not being able to display the chosen settings.

2560x1080? What kind of resolution is that anyway?
I have a 21:9 monitor. They are really great for gaming. Most newer games support it.

21:9? Well ♥♥♥♥. I would die for 16:10 gaming monitor!

Ah cool! I want to get one (I don't want to have 3 screens to play driving sims but want a wider view). Can I ask, do you have many issues in games? In racing games do you get a wider view? Thanks!
Monitor is amazing. If a game is properly designed for it (and most new ones are) it does not stretch the screen, it actually provides more viewable area.

Games like Battlefield are great with this! Even Civilization 5 is better.

Highly recommended!
I managed to enable this resolution ( disabled screen scaling in nvidia control panel ) but instead of adding visible area on sides it stretches 16:9 image all the way to the sides, while maintaining 1:1 pixel aspect ratio.
