it is possible, on ATI cards the physics processing just goes to the CPU instead of GPU with PhysX.

could you be slightly more specific with what the error says?

Thanks Fear999900, but i copied the .dll files to my metro 2033 game directory in steam, instead of to my windows system folder and it seems to have worked :)

How did you get the files, Parker? Apparently I'm mising the PhysX files as well.

The game Velvet Assassin has a similar issue. For me, downloading and installing the PhysX Legacy drivers did the trick there and with Metro 2033.
Nvidia's website and the driver:

There is an install option in the Metro 2033 game files. You have to restart your computer once you install it for Metro to work.

It's a bit troublesome how Steam does indeed know how to distribute digital downloads. Only checking to see if the game can actually RUN sometimes... That leaves a little bit to be desired. Relying on the wonderful community is one thing, but it shouldn't be the 1st answer to solve an issue that in all respect shouldn't excist in the first place.

c:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common\
to
c:\Windows\system\

than force us to watch that 3.50 minutes of pure usless babble and 5 scond of what we want
spare us the agony pls
but nonetheless thanks

Don't mean to be a ♥♥♥♥, but I have no idea where the install folder is located.
