WOW! What an insanely excellent game!

The graphics on this game are incredible! That is with a GTX560. There are different areas that are populated by groups of NPC's. They all are talking with noise and music in the background. The realism is truly amazing! If you have ever worked on a video game you will have a true appreciation for what the makers have created.

If I was going to change anything, it would be even scarier to walk through by yourself. The storytelling of the companion would be lost, but the increase in suspense would magnify the atmosphere to something truly terrifying.

The ammo and or weapons would need to be changed to. I found myself hiding behind the companion all of the time so I would not run out of ammo. Even if it was not realistic, I would rather have lots of ammo so I could spray bullets and kill stuff, instead of hiding behind the computer companion and watching him spray unlimited ammo to kill stuff.

I don't know if all current games have the same production values as this one, but Metro 2033 is truly a masterpiece from the graphics, storytelling, atmosphere, and voice acting perspectives.

If the game will not work, you might check to see if it was installed on the C: or a different volume. The game would not work at first with a "Physxloader.dll" error message. It was installed on a different drive from the C: drive, so I copied all of the Physx files from the C: drive to the Metro 2033 folder on the other drive and it worked after that.

I agree, it is a great game.

As for the ammo, you might not have noticed it on your first playthrough, but you can actually exchange your military grade rounds for dirty rounds at the exchange kiosks, and vice versa. Makes it a lot easier to have ample ammunition for your weapon of choice.

I'm at my 3rd playthrough now and still discovering new stuff :D I finished the game on Ranger Hard and I'm proud of it... and now I'm trying to get the second ending.
One thing though. English voices suck. This 'problem' was in Stalker games too. Just be sure to change the voices to Russian... for everyone's sake

I concur You can tell the developers put their heart and soul into the production of this game and on max settings I personally think the graphics are better than crysis 3 maxed out down to the blue smoke that lingers after a firefight this game was far ahead of its time and i cannot wait til the new one come out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree. While the graphics are nice and the voice actors are decent enough, the gameplay is absolutely horrid especially stealth combat which is highly encouraged in game.

Metro 2033 is one of the better games in a few years, yes. So good, that I'm really looking forward to Last Light's relese.

Why is the stealth combat horrid?

If it is because you find sneaking up behind people and killing them with no warning repugnant, I could agree with that.

If it is a game implementation issue though, I haven't encountered anything in stealth combat I felt did not work properly.

Most games have stupid stories, poor voice actors, and little challange once you learn to run fast into the face of the enemy, while shooting straight Bang ,Bang Bang.. I find this boring and kind of silly. The monsters in metro make scary sounds and the enemy is not totally brain dead. I can not remember ever finding the voice script a waste of time. Especially being that once you know the story you can skip a large portion of it. We need more games like Metro 2033 and Stalker COP.

The russian voices are the real deal. The english ones are a joke... but it's good we can change it. And the A.I. in ranger hard mode is smart, like the ones in F.E.A.R. Overall, I say again, Metro and Stalker are the coolest games ever.
