Disable DoF.
Make sure your drivers are up to date.
Overlock those puppies.
I have a Windforce 670 OC'd out the ying yang and after I disable DoF everything is butter at 1080p.

Try running in DX9 and not DX10-11, I find the DX10-11 parts are poorly done.

Typically I run it in at least DX10 for the volumetric smoke. But then, I get roughly 60fps in most cases on Very High and DX11 with my HD 7950 at 1080p.

@OP: Are you running multiple monitors? That would help us determine whether it's a tweak issue or a hardware/driver issue.

We could suggest tweaks all day but if you're running only one monitor and getting poor performance out of dual 670s then it won't mean a damn.

nope , i just have one monitor 1080p acer g245h , that's what blowing my mind because it should be overkill for this game and i don't know what causing the lag

Ever thought of micro stuttering because of sli?
Still, I think the engine on this is pretty bad scaled...

Actually, I've been having this exact problem as well, except more often. Had trouble even getting through the prologue let alone rest of the game, and I'm running a gtx 660 Ti.

Alright. Have you tried measuring your FPS with Fraps? I've readt that SLI setups will experience lag without having a low FPS.

I have a single GTX670 2GB and it's fine for me, so I guess it's a glitch, probably with the DoF as someone has already stated. I get a weird grid all across the screen when I turn on DoF with my native resolution, so I either have to turn it off, or play at a different resolution. I tend to turn it off, it's hardly noticable really, but does seem to cause people some problems.

Having looked at your video above, it seems to be a stuttering issue, maybe a background application or something? Try disabling some non-essential background programs until you can either find the culprit or eliminate them all as not being the problem
Tuskan GA Jan 23, 2013 @ 7:02pm
Also, try disabling SLI temporarily. If the stuttering goes away, then that's probably the cause.

Metro 2033 is more designed for AMD cards and CrossFire. I've read that SLI performance is lackluster and prone to anomalous problems.
