The game keeps crashing during "dry".

So, I have this game for quite a while, I've finished it a couple of times and never had any issue. My computer is still the same from when I first played it and now the game doesn't stop crashing.
I tried a few things I searched on the internet:
Removing and reinstaling PshyX, deleting save files (because they could be corrupted), deleting the .cfg file.. And nothing worked. This had never happened before, and now I can't play it.
Did any of you had any issues with the game crashing? How did you solve it?
I run on a AMD Phenom II X4 955, 8gb DDR3 1333mhz and a AMD Radeon HD 6870 Black Edition with the most updated driver, I finished the game with maxed graphics twice, so graphics settings were not a problem before, and I really doubt they are now, I even tried to lower them, but the game still crashes. Any hints?

Well, since I had no replies here, I had to keep trying until I found a solution.
So here's what I did:

Deleted the .cfg files on Steam folder and local user folder;
Completelly removed the game content and instaled it again (also instaled the redist in the game package, including DirectX and Pshyx);
Uninstaled everything related to my graphics card drivers and instaled again;
When asked, opened the game in "safe mode", remade my graphics and gameplay setup and restarted the game and then started in normal mode.

Which of those steps did helped, I don't know, but now it's working 100% again. (I even got to keep my save files, they were not corrupted at all).
