Infinite ammo
Hi, is there any way to get infinite ammo or health in this game?

Thanks

Why do you want to kill the game? Try the lower difficulties then, instead of start cheating!

There is not any way that I know of to get infinite ammo or health in this game. This game requires stealth in certain situations. You can't just go guns blazing all the time or you will die.

They designed the levels in the game so that stealth is always a possbility. Just keep an eye on your visibility indicator, look for lights that can be extinguished, and you'll get through it

But I don't want a virus :( I wish developers still made cheats...

Google is your friend:

Look for:

1.--> ...:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033\user.cfg

2.--> ...:\Steam\userdata\XXXXXX\43110\remote\user.cfg

3.--> ...:\Steam\SteamApps\common\metro 2033\user.cfg

Edit these 3 files in the following lines (or add them, if they are not there):

g_global_god 0
g_god 1
g_unlimitedammo 1

If you edit g_global_god to "1", all enemies will be invincible as well. So better keep it at "0". ;-)

You will still get a red screen when you're attacked, but will not die.

P.S.: Decide for yourself if you want to influence your experience of the game this way...

Yes I do! Thank you Fauli_alpha!! I have not tried what you said, but I will next time I install the game. I'm just happy I can now relax and enjoy the experience and story :D:D

You payed good money for this game. Now you want to just throw it away.

Or maybe you didn't pay anything for it. You want to cheat - cheat, steal - all the same.

I don't get OP. OP buys game, wants to use cheats, makes the game better for him? This little creature should go back to its natural habitat. Where childern run wild and parents have no power. COD land.

If you can't beat this game without cheats even on easy, you don't deserve to play it. Plain and simple.

Maybe I just want to enjoy the story and gameplay without worrying about stupid ammo limits and health packs. It's not cheating, it's modifying the game so it's ok.

If Metro were less FPS and more RPG then you'd have a point. But IMO about 75% of the game is about the action/stealth etc. The focus is not the story/goal/objective/winning its about the interaction with the world and part of that interaction is the shortage of ammo.

That said - unlike your typical FPS where you can carry around 10,000 rounds of whatever, 20 rockets, 30 different weapons etc Metro tries to be a bit more realistic by limiting ammo. This limitation impacts the way the game is played to a huge extent. Ammo management can/does become a matter of life and death which is an important part of the Metro experience.

With infinite ammo one wouldn't be playing Metro - one would be playing another FPS - just with different graphics.

LOL. Stupid ammo limit? Last time when I completed the game on easy difficulty I have never bought any ammo from the shops, but when I get to the last levels I have more than 1500 for AK, and 500 for shotgun. And I say again I didn't buy ammo from shops. I collected them from dead bodies, boxes. And I also completed the game on hardcore, and there I also didn't have any problem with the ammo or the filters, the only difference was that I had to buy some from the shops. Remeber this is not COD to just go and shoot. Here you have to search all dead bodies, not just your enemies, and boxes, tables, ect, for ammo and filters. I have never had any problem with my ammo and filters, more than that I found too much of them.

OK, I have a bad mouse and can't aim. So most of my shots miss. In this case, I think you will all agree, it is ok to cheat and get more ammo.
