Finished Ranger Hardcore!
Not really THAT hard as people make it seem. For starters, it maybe daunting though during the first firefight with humans. But once you get used to it, it gets easy, specially with you kill enemies that fast. ANd the blob part near the end is also easier here than normal difficulty for some reason, cause the ones that spout the blobs can be killed easily. Some tips:
*Try stealth kill as many as you can. I know this game's stealth is bad, but you're stuck with it. And hide a lot during firefights. Enemies don't flank you that much, and you'll probably hear them when they try to.
*Look for alternate paths. Like on "frontline" level, there are like 3 alternate paths you can take. Much easier that way.
*When fighting against monsters together with a companion (like Khan or Bourbon before entering the market, or ) let them kill all the enemies, and just run around in circles avoiding the monsters). Note though that before entering dry station, bourbon can die so this should be the only time where you'll protect him.
*Get a hellsing as soon as you can. Much better than knifes, specially when there is no crosshair. Then throw it away once you get to sparta, and replace it with the heavy auto shotgun.
Not very helpful tips for some, but I got through Ranger hardcore with this.

I am playing on ranger hardcore myself and I find that the most challenging areas are when you are fighting the nazis. I am on the Black Station level now. How was the Library level?

library is very easy as long as 1) you know how to respond to a librarian when they aproach you or 2) you have a helsing.
I find having a helsing better, cause you can overpump them before an encounter, then just shoot the librarians when they start moving at you. They wont even be able to do a thing especially when you have 3x damage due to ranger mode rules.

I prefer not to kill any of them. Its just more enjoyable for me. Well, except the one after the lift, that beast attack you anyway.

I heard that the library level was just creepy overall but i thought the section with Khan was well done too.

yeah khan's was good too. no fight though, save for the anomaly section, but you can just let khan kill every single one of nthe monsters until the anomaly arrives.

Okay, I finally finished it on ranger hardcore. Honestly, for some reason towards the end i was running into issues off low filters and low ammo. I had to run around the library level looking for filters while playing hide and seek with those damn librarians. The one that sneaks up behind you in their little underground lair scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. Also, I had to use cheap tactics to get pass the glowing exploding blob things. Really good game though overall.

Honestly, after finishing the game a few times, you know where to go in the library and can just run past the librarians. I thought the hardest parts were keeping up with the amoebas and the final stretch to the tower... When I made it to the tower, my gas mask was one hit from cracking!

The damn amoebas were annoying. Like I said earlier, I had to to be cheap and run past that last section of them, because the last group of blobs seem to go after you rather than Miller. I let them follow me all the way up to the ladder, climbed up and healed, then climbed down and when you touch the ground they start to explode. I ran away from the exploding ones and eased my way over to Miller to get him to follow me to the ladder. It was a cheap but effective tactic.

And what about shooting the amoebas nests? If you destroy all of them they will stop coming... Easy.

I did not have enough ammo to destroy nests.

Hows that? I usually have 1000-1500 ammo for the machine gun, and least 300 for the shotgun, + the military rounds, which is also 200-300 at that point. It was more than enough even on hardcore.

Wow, I did not have nowhere near that much. I had a clip and a half for the Kalash 2000 or whatever it was and some 4 rounds for the magnum and zero for the shotgun. You must have played incredibly conservative with your ammo.

And I didn't buy any! I found all of these ammo from dead enemies, boxes, ground, ect. Thats why I can't understand how did you, or some player run out. Next times you should explore all areas on your way, on all levels, or if you don't do this, buy from the shops.

Hmmm... there's probably no way you'll be able to survive the blob level with just that even on easy mode. you'll have to restart way back to a point where you think you'll be able to conserve ammo...
