PhysX .dll missing

I could play the game just fine a while ago and when I reinstalled it it says a .dll is missing after the first time setup. I googled it and found a fix that invovles going into the Metro 2033 Steam Folder and reinstall NVidia PhysX. I did that and it first deinstalled itself, then did it again and it installed itself again. I tried starting the game but it still says the .dll is missing. Any fix?

Just google PhysX. Download PhysX from the nvidia link. Run it, and uninstall your PhysX installation, with the options that pop-up. Then run it again and install PhysX.

Somehow the PhysX gets messed up and Metro won't run. This fixes it, and can be done in five minutes.

I did what you said Tiny Trees and after one failed launch that crashed, the game is crashing because of a failed executable. It says Metro 2033 Executable stopped working.

I verified the integrity of the game cache and it downloaded one file, but it still keeps crashing

I would try S.T.a.JI.K.e.R.'s Way but that seems to be a Fix for the Start Up. The start up is not the problem. The game crashes whenever I try to load my game (I have my save files before the reinstall)

Hello, I want to apologize ahead of time, as I have not found a fix for this issue.

I am also experiencing the same problem as you have described, even after trying the supplied fixes. Right now I am redownloading/reinstalling the game again. Will let you know what happens.

Reinstall did not fix it :(. Went back to the missing .dll error.

fixed it.

1. download and install the latest version of physx
found here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html

2. copy all newly installed.dll files from the physx folder
found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common

3. paste physx .dll files to windows system folder
found here: C:\Windows\system

4. enjoy!

I did this on a fresh install. Sounds like you still have the .dll files in the metro application folder(as suggested by a previous post), try deleting those and following the steps.

This is a fresh install. Maybe I didn't explain enough earlier, I played Metro 2033 fine before but my Windows started having all sorts of glitches and errors so I had to do a clean install with my disk and reformat all of the drives because the first time I did not reformat and it didn't work. All I saved from the previous install were some saves from various games I had on Steam. So now I did a totally fresh install, I already have all the drivers required I made sure of that, and this is the first time I ever remember having this .dll problem with Metro 2033. I am playing Metro Last Light at the moment and it works great.

im geting the same thing i just went to local files metro2033 and clicked on the exe and it worked so i just made a shortcut to desktop and playing from it.
