1-18-13 Patch Uploading.
Critical fixes:
- AI decision-making tuned.
- Fixed an end turn CTD
- UI now handles its memory much better
- Fixed CTD caused by crit hits list
- Fixed CTD on completion of reserves transfer
- Fixed a combat CTD

Other fixes:
- Fixed Liir_Zuul battle cruiser not launching assault shuttles
- Fixed Liir getting battle cruiser sections on cruisers
- Fixed database handling of unicode characters
- Fixed not getting research project for super novas
- Fixed issue where ship toolip would not show up in starmap
- Fixed frequency of supernovas
- Fixed node cannons not firing when moving
- Fixed subverted drones attacking friendly ships after docking
- Fixed swarm queen not firing
- Fixed group list not showing up when using the number group select in combat
- Fixed new fleets not being able to deploy on the turn they were created

Other changes and additions:
- Loa fleets now presented with an option to slowboat when deploying missions
- Can now deploy fleets on missions that are returning home or patrolling
- Can now order planets in planet manager
- Selecting a fleet from the fleet list while in the starmap now dulls out stars outside of that fleet's range
- Many strings exposed for localization
- Can now cycle systems in the build screen

Known issues:
- Old Savegames will continue to use old AI algorithms.
- Turn times may be slightly longer as we continue to optimize new AI algorithms.

WOOT for AI improvement but lets just hope turn times aren't crushingly long.

Yet again screws up old save games. There's a leak or something with the UI. It's even worse than before the patch and now causes a crash after awhile, particularly when trying to transfer reserve fleets.

From ok'ish to so slow its really a crash - large game (invested time!!!) now wasted.

After running the newest patch and my old save game seems to be broken again:

- fleet setup takes a lot of time
- transfering reserve fleets causes game to crash
- building stations or even upgrade them takes a lot of time
- combat's slowed down
- localization is <censored>...

well, once again old save games are only one thing: wasted time...

Same. I started a game yesterday, invested 8 or so hours into it, took a break to go eat. come back, the game had patched, and my save game was totaly unplayable. Clicking any planet took 3-4 seconds to respond and god help you if you try to actually move anything. I'm just glad I had just started the game yesterday. I have yet to try a new game. Hopefully it doesn't have the same issue.

Yup. Just tried a new game, same issue. Game is currently unplayable without tremendous lag on the strategy screen when performing any action. :( Sad, because despite having owned it since launch I only just got into playing it a couple days ago. Was even enjoying it, except for the swarm queens.

Sadly this isn't the only game to have problems when updates appear with old saves. Sadly its mots likely in our best interest that the saves not be preserved in perfection with updates since that would likely greatly increase the complexity and the time needed to create the updates.

At least you have some option to use them - I recall the Sacred updates would be unusable with old saves so you had to constantly export and restart with your character (you didn't lose levels but starting areas where you're level 30 and the mobs are level 1 are really rather dull - esp when its the 5th time ;))

After update to version 2.0.24759.2 the old saves game again works. :D
