Not bashing xp or you, I loved it and Windows 7 seems better in every way to me. You might give it a try.
We have had multi threads now for 10 years so asking a dev not to use them to make their game better seems a stretch.

Processor:Core2 Duo or equivalent
Memory:2 GB RAM
Graphics:512-MB DirectX 10, Integrated graphics (laptops) are not supported
