stations inside planets
When this starts happening is my saved game ruined? or will the upcoming fix ( I assume its coming) fix it ?

I have given up playing because of this bug. I can never take over systems. WIthin range of my empire are the hivers, and every single system has stations inside planets and I cannot expand due to supply issues. To me, this is the #1 bug in the game right now and is ruining gameplay completely. Can we get a patch for this, this has been happening since EOF came out and I'm suprised this hasn't been fixed.

I just figured out that this was happening as well. Agree that it's a serious glitch, and since Steam forces updates there's no way to get around it. I'll just have to suspend my game (again) until there's a fix.

Wish I knew :p

But they've been releasing patches pretty frequently - I think there were 4 or 5 in the past week alone.

patch notes say they fixed back in Oct looks like they broke it again, I have the same issue :(

I think that I do to.. but it has worked in my favor as an invasion fleet couldn't destroy MY starbase and this delayed their invasion until my defence fleet arrived and took them out!

Glass half empty? not in my case!

Hope they patch it before you decide to go on the offensive. If not, lulz. :P

Ha ha yeah good point Zane. Had that happen to me today. Let me ask you a question, what kind of ships do you need normally to take out starbases? Their missile barrages are very intense and are heavily damaging my ships before they can get close enough to the planet to even try to shoot through!

lots of PD goes without saying. mayby some heavier weapons like seige drivers or beamers or torps.
Zane Dec 10, 2012 @ 7:24am
Yup, PD is good against missles, drones and battle riders. If you don't have PD researched yet you can use beamers or phasers set to PD as well, they just won't be as effective. Lancers are good against large/slow moving targets as well, so having a few of those in your fleet would be good if the station is your primary concern.

The bases rarely give me trouble, but their planets might. Therefore I always have plenty of PD and deflectors at least to my assault shuttle carriers if I can roll or salvage it.

Ah, but this station bug is annoying. I wish there was a hotfix.

well populated planets can be troubling. especially once the enemy has heavy missiles and planetry beam batterys.

Kind of screws with the more narrative aspect of the game though. I really don't know what to do with these guys anymore, they build a deep, complex game around a solidly-designed concept, and then bug it to the point that starbases are tumbling around inside the planets they're guarding. Twice.
