I'll Wait for Next Sale Thanks
With a Metracritic of 44 this game should be no more than 9.99 regular price. I'll wait until the next STEAM sale. I've heard nothing but bad things about this game and just repacking it isn't going to change my mind.

What the OP does not provide is a false understanding.

He is exactly right. This is merely a sales pitch of the same broken product under a different title + a DLC that offers a new race. Prior patches were larger than this supposed "expansion" of 200MB.

I've had this game since release. Yes it has improved (after each "enhancement") but it is *STILL* a work in progress and there is fundamentally no difference between Enhanced Edition and the last version of Lords of Winter.

New race? Big deal.

Dear Kerbie Kids, continue to fix the game and get it to what it should have been and please stop with the deceptive practices.

Measuring by the size of the download is a pretty bad way to measure. Most of the download size will come from graphics and music. The code in the actual program is where the serious stuff happens. 50K of changes there could be a really massive change to the game.

As for being the same game it was when it first came out, that's just plain stupid.

They add an entire new race to the game and that means nothing to you?? Yeah, whatever. Where's the 'ignore' button in this forum?

I never said that this is the same game as it was released. I mentioned the game has improved since.

Why are you deliberately trying to deceive people? Or are you normally this obtuse?

Methos it is, Ordo is a long time troll over several forums spouting the same tired diatrob.

Well I would be interested in checking the game out but only at 9.99 so like I said I will wait for the next sale. 44 Metacritic your lucky to get 5 dollars let alone 20. This thing should also be on a 50% sale much like Endless Space and Sins were. All the competitors are putting up sales and SoTS is overpriced with no deals.. I'm just saying. In almost every forum I visit for any game of this genre there is a masssive negative thread on the bugs on SoTS and how the devs spent so much time fixing it yada yada. Give us a free weekend with the game at least to see for ourselves. Most people probably just torrent it. I on the other hand like to support my developers however when they blatantly overprice stuff much like Distant Worlds and that entire fiasco I just walk away.

What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thread - Uhhh Metacritics 44 -.-
Did you ever read the critics, they are that low, because of the crap this game was when it was released. I bought it at full price to support them and i do not regret it a secound. It is by far the best space strategy game at moment.
I think the new addon was release (for free for everyone who already owns the game) to make gaming sites/magazines test the game again. Thats a totally legit marketing strategy.
Malicar Dec 1, 2012 @ 9:28am
Well how about a free weekend demo then. If it's that good I'll buy it, but without a demo and a Meta of 44 I can't take a stab unless it's 9.99 It's just too expensive.
Jiggly Dec 1, 2012 @ 9:36am
I think a demo isn't too much to ask. It is a fact that competing space strategy games are going 50% off and providing demos so why not show us more for less?

Just came back after a year. It is finally not crashing every 10 minutes. But it still is not really a good game. The only reason I fight myself through it is because I'm a huge fan of Sots 1. But I could never tell any of my friends to buy it. Its just missing too much and its too confusing. I dont think this strategy to release it again and again in its unfinished state is very good. I think I will skip the next 2 rererereleases and just wait for Sots 3, if that ever happens.

But I seriously thinking about reinstalling sots 1. That was so much more fun. Not as good graphic, but a much better and worked out gameplay.

I'm not as disappointed as before from sots 2, but still disappointed. I got so many better games to play.
Commodore Dannerson Dec 1, 2012 @ 10:20am
you uninstalled sots 1?...HEATHEN!!!! BURN HIM AT THE STEAK!!!!!
jzodda Dec 1, 2012 @ 10:58am
Why wait for the next sale. Its $9.99 at amazon and includes the first game also as well as others. There is a link a few posts down.
Malicar Dec 1, 2012 @ 10:59am
I don't use Amazon myself but yeah that is the right price. So if retail stuff is 9.99 why is the digital version 20? Only proves my point...
