There is intermittent Paradox presence on these forums at best. Please visit paradoxplaza.com to get in touch with the developers!
Hello guys!

For technical support and developer feedback. Please come to forum.paradoxplaza.com. We do not have capacity to support these forums as well. You are of course welcome to post here, but you should not do so and expect any official response (although it may happen). Over at the official forums you will however.

Register your Victoria 2 + expansions under "My Games" at the top to gain the correct access.

Well met at the Plaza!

Best Regards

Maybe tell your webmaster that requiring a visitor to log into the forum before they can search the forum for information about your game is not the best way to get information about your game in the publics hands. Point your webmaster to this link;

No problem searching without a log in. Time for a change?

Actually I have the largest portion of responsibility for the paradox forums.

The non-specific forums should be available for anyone even if not registered. There you can find general info and feedback from other users.

Modding forums and tech support require you to register your game on the forums.

When it comes to general information about the game this Steam forum will probably help a lot. But if you want direct contact with the developers I suggest you register an account and the game (if you have it) on paradoxplaza.

The point was that we do not have staff to be able to actively monitor these forums as well. Many post here expecting official answers which is not very likely.

Yes you can browse the general area but you can't initiate a search. For example I was wondering about the screen resolutions that the game supported and went to search for "resolutions" but the forum would not allow me to search unless I performed a log in.

Should I eventually purchase Victoria II I most likely will become a member on your forums but until I actually own a game I avoid becoming a member of forums I may never consult again.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this matter.

Please try re-installing the game. For problems with specific mods you will have to contact the developer of said mod.

I have no idea what this might be. I suggest you make a more detailed report on our forums where there are more people to help you as well.

To the person who posted as "Lenin". I had to remove your post as it was out of line considering your language.

But to answer the things that was possible to make out between the curses:
- The game is not "completely broken". Me and many others have no problems.
- Without more details it's hard to help you solve your issue. If you don't want to post on the forums, please submit a ticket through paradox.zendesk.com.
- Refunds are handled entirely through the retailer where you purchased it. If you bought it through Steam, please ask for a refund through Steam.

Thank you!

I apologize for the language but you're completely ignoring the entire point. I can't post in your forums; I can't even register properly. The game is indeed broken; I've found countless others having the issue "v2game.exe has stopped working" among many, many more issues. None of your "fixes" work for a vast majority of users. I will contact Steam, and I will be complaining about the horrible service your company has let slide and asking why exactly Steam supports your games.

Looking at the reports in the forums pretty much everyone reporting this particular issue had it resolved :/

It seems an issue with codecs installed on the computer is the main culprit.

This thread contains several reports and different solutions: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?648904-v2game.exe-has-stopped-working

This was the solution which worked for me:

quote: Lembley42 10. Apr. um 23:46 Uhr
try to delete the cache (go Steam / steamapps / common/ Victoria II / map / cache and delete all content within that folder, not the folder itself) and start the game over v2game in the Victoria II folder or if you want to play a mod victoria2.exe

It is a joke that you tell your customers there is no problem cause you dont have one. It is quite obviously that there is a problem with the game (not because of any codecs beeing installed on the customers computers) with so many people having this bug.

Also I would rethink just looking at your official website, would be interesting to see how many users buy your game via steam and use this website instead of the official one.

Was the same with hearts of iron where several users had the problems with crashes right in the middle of the game and Paradox not even beeing able to fix it until now.

I'm not saying there is no problem. Several people had the same issue, but it seems to be fixes for the problem (such as the one you provided).

I just replied to the claim that the game would not be working at all for anyone and that there were no solutions offered for said issue.

Also, we try to be active here as well. But seeing a vast majority of our users are on our forums and we don't have manpower to fully cover all channels we prioritize there and suggest that you come to our forums where there are is also a lot of regular community members helping out as well. It's not a claim to be the best support in the world, but it's an advise that will get you help in the fastest way.
