I just got this game, and every time I go to load it at the Map logic part it crashes. I am going to enter this in Steam technical help, and google it, but because the community for most Paradox games are amazing, I was wondeirng if anyone else had a solution.

Hello! I had this happen to me as well. I found a solution at the paradox Victoria forum, but in case you are not registered there here is the info:

You need to delete the map cache folder: (default is c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\victoria 2\maps), try deleting its contents if you do have it.

Just delete the maps folder and this problem should go away. Also in the pinned post there is more information.

I deleted the map folders contents and then I just got a new error and it froze earlier than at map logic.. :(

Any other ideas..

Oh, Lawence. I have seen this problem. Return the map foler back to its original area, then delete the cache folder inside the map folder.

Didn't work... :(

Did you confirm integrity afterwards?
Aurane Jan 9, 2014 @ 2:01pm
OK got it working now.

I verified integrity. It downloaded a single file, but didn't work.
I deleted Map Folder contents, didn't work.
I deleted only cahce contents, didn't work.
I deleted cache contents once more (there was one file there called "Time"), and deleted the Victoria II folder contents in the Documents Folder, and now it started up.

Hope it keeps working.

omg the crisis system is exactly what this game needed. It is awesome.

It creates a situation where one nation starts a crisis by making demands. Then other large nations can join the crisis and pick a side in it. Thus, sometimes the crisis will have the greatest nations in the world fight it out in two camps. This is one of the best implementations in a game I have ever seen.
