Game doesn't start at all
I've looked all over for a fix, and found nothing. i attempt to launch the game, and my cursor shows the loading symbol for a second, then nothing. No screen flickering from a crash, no error reports, etc. Any ideas?

It does work, but you won't be able to play, since it runs very slow. Like 20 fps, 10 if there are bigger explosions.

NO its not even a laptop, it's a desktop. a gaming one, handling it shoudlnt be a problem.

Well, the basic Magicka was made by two programmers only and is not really optimized for many graphic cards :/

I think I had the same issue as you. Steam would try to launch the game, and then Windows would tell me that "magicka.exe has stopped working". This link helped me:

Basically, just make sure that the installers in "...\steamapps\common\magicka\Dependencies" get run.

DavoMoto, thanks very much, that fixed it for me as well.

DavoMoto's link worked for me as well. Thanks.

You do know, that there is a sticky for problems like yours?
FutureApe Nov 30, 2012 @ 8:37am
How couldn't they? You post it in every thread. ;)
[Lemons] w!z@rD Nov 30, 2012 @ 9:41am
Yeah, because half of the people are either blind or love creating new discussions with the same crap over and over again...
FutureApe Nov 30, 2012 @ 9:49am
Well, I'm sure that insulting posters, either directly or passive-agressively, is a good way to help them. Instead of posting a link to helpful advice.

While there is good information in the sticky, getting people to read stickies is nigh impossible on any forum. And if people aren't posting new threads, why bother having a forum at all? It's not like they were going to post something besides a request for help. Consider this, if the forum has no activity, no one will come here, and then who will notice that you started a pinned thread?

Well, my first comment on this discussion was a reply to the banana guy and Neto.
I have to admit, I forgot the original thread...

People are posting not only discussions/threads about their problems...
If people would post their problems in the sticky, instead of cluttering up this forum, there would still be activity, no?
most of those "help me!!!!!!!!!"-discussions get three or maybe four replys and that's it.
Great activity!

Most of the problems I've seen here can be solved by reading the first post of the sticky. If a potential poster finds a solution there, they post nothing. That means no activity.

You can complain about the type of posts or number of responses, but who wants to go to a forum where literally nothing ever happens?
