Fix for "Magicka has stopped working" (Launch Crash Issue)
First try this:
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Magicka\Dependencies
2. Run xnafx31_redist.exe

If that does not resolve the issue, try the following:
1. Run dotnetfx35.exe from in the Dependencies folder
2. Go to Steam\Steamapps\Common\Magicka\ and delete Magicka.exe
3. Go to Steam -> Right click Magicka -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache

just run the xna3.1 redistributable and you will be fine.

Thanks for that. I suspected as much, but figured I should post all the steps I took just in case.

What error do you get? Have you tried completely reinstalling the game?

The game just crash and yes, I have reinstalled it twice. -.-''
I also have tried everything. Reinstalling game, repairing xna, reisntalling DX, reinstalling .net, enabling .net. I have done everything on all the forum posts excepting reinstalling windows. this is getting quite frustrating.

ok so I jsut got it working........ somehow Windows decided it needed to be running in compatibility mode. I turned that off and it works now.

Same as "Hashtomtensren" I am not able to even run the game it crashes when I click "Play" & my computer is a serious over kill on the recommended system hardware so its not my computer. All of my other games work fine other then the older ones that clearly will not run under Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit. I just bought this game this morning before I went to bed & downloaded it to my SSD, then when it didn't work I deleted & redownloaded it thinking it was perhaps a glitch or bad download but still the same problem.

What do I see when I press "Play"?

Ok how do I get into the magicka folder because nothing is popping up for it
