Just download the windows 8.1 user preview version and install it, limited support on it, but at least you would be able to play the game, and if that doesn't work, use an old windows 7 user preview, to ensure compatibility. lol

That way you can use win 7 or 8.1 on one harddrive, and linux on another, just don't forget to remove a harddrive when uninstalling or installing another windows, then plug it back in after installed and started up to get to the desktop for the first time in that windows.
Just shut down after a first time startup in that windows, plug in the harddrive, and change operating systems through the bios, by changing the boot order of the hardrives each time you want to load another, for linux into windows and back.

Although I don't just mean for this game, it can work to be compatible with alot of windows games that way. This way you get the best of both options. =)

If the windows 8.1 preview doesn't work now, then I don't know, but you can download a .iso file of it, then use a .iso file program to get into that file, for the installation, but it would be a good idea to learn how to make it into an install disc to install with windows startup, make sure in your bios that your cd drive is set to first priority, to boot first always, nothing will happen when a cd isn't in the drive, but this is good for installing issues when needed, although after first windows install, it will ask to press a key, ignore it and let windows startup for the first time, then take the cd out once your get to the windows desktop screen, make sure it is completely loaded before taking out the windows install cd.

Also, when another windows comes out, there will be more free windows preview installations. Can't say they will all be compatible with older games, but some might be.

The best idea is to build a custom pc, and to learn your windows well, as well as to keep it up to date in all areas, even drivers and programs, as well as removing viruses, spyware and other types, then when to disable the antivirus autoprotect for specific games or installations.

But using a custom pc is going to be the best thing, then add windows 7 to it and wait for a new windows, install it on another harddrive if a new windows comes out, newegg.com for custom building a pc. And the reason I mentioned windows 7 again, is because of the compatibility with games today, some new ones will work on windows 8.1 just as easily, if those games just came out. Although some people don't have an issue with games on windows 8.1, where others will, depends on your hardware, so build a custom pc, amd motherboard as a 990fx with the best air cooled processor, and ddr3 capable, then buy an nvidia geforce 670 gtw ftw edition at the least.

But anyways, I know you guys like your linux, I suggest trying the method of the windows 7 or 8.1 preview, which ever will work on your pc and for the game, and if those previews still do work. But install it on another harddrive and boot that drive through the bios, then switch back to linux in the bios when done with windows games. Don't forget to find all cookies on all harddrives, after updates, installs or surfing the web. Even if just using steam, it might leave cookies possibly on one drive sometimes.

With what? Linux for this game?

Or are you talking about the multiplayer?

Btw, were you on last night? There were alot of matches in deathmatch and team deathmatch for transformers: war for cybertron going late last night in multiplayer, was wondering if you were there.

Also, it's a good idea to have another way to get their games to work, nothing wrong with giving it a try as it's not that hard to do, you just download it, use a program to burn it to a blank cd, then as it becomes a windows install cd because of the setup files properly on the cd, it will then startup at launch of the pc, and when you install windows preview "if it still works", and worth the try.., then you can enjoy games that you normally couldn't get to work on linux.

It works both ways for a linux user, and is a very easy process to switch in the bios of harddrives just to use the other windows.

I do it with win 7 32 bit ultimate, and win 7 64 bit home premium, but I do that for specific reasons, also to keep the win 7 64 bit version as clean and perfect as possible, works fast too, and the win 7 32 bit version is for surfing the web, cleaning up after browsing, removing cookies, scaning for viruses using an antivirus, and all sorts of things that way, for the ultimate clean pc.

The thread is 2 years old. Why the bump? lol
Oh man.. mentioned Windows 8.1 preview in this.. Well Windows 10 had a preview version as well which was well worth it to use, much better than Windows 8/8.1
Though.. there will be new Windows previews to download, so let's not revive this thread. lol

You're only asuming, that doesn't make it so.

Or rather, the mis-communication.

I think you're drunk.

And yes you should have created another thread, unless this was already on the first page, but it wasn't, and now it is again..

Fact makes it so. Ignorance is the only position you have to argue from. Gl with that.

Not really sure what your issue is with Linux users? You act like we kicked your dog or something. It's not a popularity contest. Some of us use our computers for school. Thus requiring the use of Linux.

Opinions don't make it so.
And spreading opinions while trying to prove something that is an opinion, is the denial in one's own ignorance.

You're asuming again that I said something about Linux users.

Which means you're also full of hot air.

But if you're mentioning what I said vs someone downloading Linux just to play this game.. from a thread I don't even remember anymore, well.. what ever floats your boat.
The fact it plays just fine on my Windows 10 64 bit, is enough right there.. and you don't need Linux to play it, as mentioned, I would never recommend Windows 8/8.1, but it all depends on what you like.

It's all in how you use your specific Windows and the hardware you have or upgrade to later on, just for the game to work fine, that's the denial that many have.
Which means it is your own fault if you are having issues with the game, I can show you hardware and software it works just fine on. Excluding the terrible game development on multiplayer servers and matchmaking of course... All the BS that comes with some.. modern games.

Let the thread die.

Let the thread die.

I can prove it with facts, and you can not. You are arguing from opinion and ignorance. I am assuming you have an issue with Linux users since you are here talking about using Windows. That is also fact. Stay on topic, or buzz off. Why do you want this thread to die so much? Problem with Linux users? Why make a bazillion threads saying the same thing when we can all say it in one place?

You are not a moderator, and if you keep trying to push me around like one I'll report you for pocket moderating.

Again I'm having to repeat myself, you are the one asuming again that I said something about Linux users.

Your opinions do not make it a fact.

Want to see ignorance? Look in the mirror.

Again you make more opinions, since you "assume", just because I mentioned Windows. Maybe you should stop being prejudice.
Are you really wanting me to prove how well my game works on Windows? I mean.. my internet is horrible, but the game works great!
I mean after all.. why would I have a guide in this game's forum, let alone help people for I don't know, so many years all over the world with computer issues, and be self taught for over 25 years, that I wouldn't have facts in my days of being on Windows? Especially for gaming... no that couldn't be!

If you want to know a fact, look at how you are acting so hostile towards someone with Windows. Your denial to make your computer work right with Windows, lead you to use Linux.
That isn't my problem, that's your own.
The game wasn't made that well since it was made by lazy game developers, but at least it works on Windows. Use a multi boot for your OS's, or stop complaining about it not working on Linux because it's not going to happen, this game is from 2010, over 6 years ago, they won't even release all the download clients from the console versions, that also had better voices from what was mentioned.

If someone wants to make a Linux thread, they can go right ahead, but don't revive a thread that is almost 2 years old, you are just trying to start a flame.

I want the thread to die because it's almost 2 years old.. And you're trying to flame someone over a 2 year old thread. I can report you for trolling you know.

You should go find the nearest tree, and bark at it, it might give you a bark in return, since that's what a tree has, but at least it would put up with you.

You are quick to throw assumptions at people, like "pocket moderating".. you don't even know what you are talking about, I can easily report you for the name calling and false accusations..

You have serious issues, this went from me giving you the logic behind my replies, to mis-communication constantly, I just think you're a troll with an agenda and it's time to report you.

Welcome to being blocked.

Obviously was a typo, but that would take having common sense. Since after all.. was getting annoyed at your constant bickering of nonsense.

Nope does not appear to be a typo.

Obviously because I corrected it, and I had left for a long time or I would have changed the typo sooner. That too was obvious. Not that it matters, the point was well given, not the typo.
