Just bought this from the Gamefly sale
FOC installed to Steam, no problem. I can't get this one to. Is there anyway to use my Gamefly purchase to install on Steam properly?

You can check out this deal that expired and see some results as to what was said about gamefly on twfc and foc.

I recommend getting the game through steam, so that it will install properly, I don't seem to have any issues installing this game through steam, but that link shows gamefly doesn't install it through steam, only foc, that is if you get it through gamefly.

Also some sites are talking about a gamefly downloader, do you have that installed?
Maybe that is used to install the game outside of steam, although you wouldn't really have a steam version of twfc if you did that, which isn't recommended.

When you get it to work, check my thread for a guide, and it's best to use the top guide tab on this game's forum to reach it, read through it, download anything that is best for your pc to work at best, the guide is there to help, use it and you will notice a difference in compatibility, stability and many other game issues for many games. =)

Thanks, the gamefly downloader isn't too great. I got it installed, but I really want it on steam for various reasons. At least FOC installed properly and I only spent about $3.00 on WFC. I'd gladly buy it again for a cheap price to have it on steam. I may be in the minority, but I actually like WFC better, though I love them both.

Not all games are ignored after a few years, but some can be by valve, as I don't know if there will be another twfc sale, I could be wrong.

Although I am sure that transformers: war for cybertron is alot cheaper than when I got it around early 2011.

Yes even I would recommend it through steam and not outside of it, as you get more help in steam with issues and many other reasons, you can also add friends to see when they are playing the game, but on this game, if you go into it even if friends are offline or not playing, you will still find many matches, check back sometimes after a couple hours to find a match if you can't, sometimes they go all day, sometimes after a few hours.

Does anyone know if I would have my friends on WFC if I played it through steam? Are there any real advantages or should I just play it as is and be happy? FOC has all of this, but it is newer and has full steam support such as achievements, etc.

Depends on if your friends in steam, have it installed, just like any other game in steam that you see your friends on.

Be sure to use my guide the moment you install it.
If you have any issues during the install or after in steam, also even if you don't, you can make your game way better in my guide.

Even though I currently don't have any steam friends that play it, this really makes me want to get the steam version. I wish I knew someone who would trade codes with me or something. I'm just gonna buy it again if it goes on sale. Maybe the winter sale?

gamefly gives you a steam code if it's for steam and then it installs through steam

Their page will show if it activates on steam and for this game it does not (just checked)

That's why I posted the link above in my comment. =P

There are several others trying to buy it on that page I linked, that can't get it to work, it's best to go through steam for this game to buy it.

Ah, I did that thing where you skip everything that was said after the main post and try to answer it

Yeah alot do that, that's why most are told to read through threads first. =P

But I see the moderators on that linked page, didn't add my solution to show others a link to this game's forum, as I went to post a comment on that linked page about a month ago, and it still isn't showing my comment for others to get some help and for them to come here to find out.
