The game is in fact not wood. I don't believe it was advertised as wood either, log or otherwise

It's because you get some players who harrass, or you get cheaters, the combination forces others to remove themselves from the game, just startup a game and fill it up, keep the hackers out. But it's not usually dead, come back at different times, also if you end up hosting a lobby with 0 in tdm, go back out and look at the tdm if you had just logged in, it only refreshes after changing and loading screens, but when you first log in, you have to join or host, then go back out to see the numbers, then rejoin to get into a match already going, otherwise when it shows 0 players, most of the time you will end up hosting a lobby, until it shows them, not always, but that's what you have to do, when it shows the numbers, to get into a match.

Also, you have to check back at different times for online and tdm numbers, you can't just go with one or the other, without looking at both, but if there's non at the moment, wait and host a game, which will eventually get players to start joining, or wait in between a half hour, to a couple hours. It's almost random when a game is going. Sometimes several games at once. But when there is, those game matches will usually go for hours.

True sometimes, but most of the time it is very active, just depends on when you catch it. =P
I enjoy the game alot also. =)
