Apology to Fatshark....
I recently purchased this game as I had a 90% coupon for it and i liked what I saw on youtube let's play videos and general info on the game.

I did hesitate though as I was suspicious of the game as STEAM told me META rates this game only 56/100. This made me unsure again as I was wondering what made the title so bad for such a low score.

I now played the game a little but already start loving it.

I want to apologies to Fatshark for not having bought this entertaining title earlier and apologise ones more for having used a coupon as I think you would have deserved my money for the full price. Please ensure you thank STEAM in corporation with META on that!

Yes users can make their own mind up and I did look at youtube and did some research into the game myself but in the end I assumed that there must be some reason 56/100 is displayed by STEAM.

This post is not about if the score is something I agree with or not. This post is about me apologising (mainly) for having had my decision influenced by weak statistics.

STEAM could display 56/100 (based on 36 ratings) or add a user rating column as well. Otherwise if we have to go to the META site anyway what is the point of displaying the scores in STEAM to begin with?

In future I personally will completely ignore any Meta critic as well as user score based on less than at least 100 ratings.

100 is just my own magic number I'm happy with.

How much research did you do before/after you saw the demo button? Should be all the research you need.

Still made me suspicious. Why would the average of professional critics rating give a game 56/100 when I enjoyed the game so far?

Hence I bought it with the coupon.

I assumed there must have been a hook, something I'm missing and I felt I must have aweful taste if I enjoyed the game which was rated to poorely.

So eventually I went looking at the actual META link and saw the user score and felt better about having bought it and guilty for not having looked at the user scores earlier.

Either-way...STEAM should just remove meta scores from STEAM, seeing only about 52% of games have a score associated and a bucket loads of the ones having scores are based on a very small pool of ratings and don't agree with the users anyway.

Seems a waste.. :(

Lesson learned,..ignore anything STEAM provides on information about a game and go somewhere else for it.

Krater is a game that suffered a lot from being released too early. A lot of the initial reviews gave really low scores since the game wasn't as stable as it could have been when it just came out. Sadly, that number kind of stuck and there isn't much we can do to change it. We're grateful that the metacritic user score is at 7.1 though :)

Glad to hear you've been enjoying your time in the Krater!

Thanks for the response. I'm hoping to add a lot more played-hours soon. Juggling between a few games at the moment and only can play late in the evenings :D

Ones I spend a significant amount more hours on it I will add my honest feedback to the user score/reviews on Meta as well.

hehe see the score of the people and the press for total war rome 2... then you understand how Metacritic is a complete BS reference when it comes to it...

Yeah, I was also thrown off by the meta, but just recently bought the game on sale and it is one of my favorites. I love some of the design choices that the devs went with (gear being more important than level, highly customizable skills, varied party configurations, end game challenges) and fell in love with the atmosphere and culture in the game. And from reading the early reviews, I can tell Fatshark loving fixed what needed to be fixed without changing their vision in the game. Hope there are expansions or sequels on the way. In the mean time, I bought a copy for a friend and excited to try out multilayer Add me if you wanna join in..

Like otehrs here, I'm really glad I took the time to get into this and think the game's highly undervalued as there's very few games like it both in gameplay and setting.

Install www.enhancedsteam.com and you will see the user score as well.

Glad to see you guys still around here although the release was probably a harsh experience overall. Just wanted to thank you guys for making such a unique game, even if it still has a bug here and there.

Recommended the game via Steam! :-)

Krater isn't overcomplicated AAA, but it's a true charmer. Sad that bad start crippled further development...

6 hours later and its smooth and great! is there a "pause button" for when combat starts?

It's pretty obvious that the Metacritic user score of this game is pumped up by the developers. At least 75 % of the user reviewers are trying to criticize the score from the media and most of the comments are from users who have commented on only one game. Krater. So there is no trust what so ever in the user score either.

some things have a casting time and such, i just do not find any bugs in this game, most games i own i go on forums see 5000 threads of bugs and i hate posting, :none here" pisses everyone off, i do have a new PC and it have like nothing on it, so maybe that is why its not all out of wack
