How is the game? It Looks cool but the Metascore is really Low....Opinions?

Even though I'm not far into the world of Krater, what I saw up until now was very nicely made.
I'm happy not to have listened to angry reviews of people who seemingly weren't the target audience;
i.e people who weren't born with a controller in hand and an instant-gratification-craving-mindset.
Not that I want to accuse everyone giving this gem/game a low score of being underage, but many of their expressed concerns are simply display of a lack of patience and grit and the result is the outcry of spoiled manchildren.

It makes me sad to see how people rage over their own incompetence, blaming it on the game;
People complaining on how they can not level up their characters past lvl.5 -
where all they had to do was talk to NPC's to find the one guy in each town who upgrades your dudes.

Game-breaking bugs or the onset of boredom I have yet to encouter;
I freaking love the atmosphere, the writing and the fantastic music.
I'd say give it a go while it's on sale if you like oldschool-ey RPG's.

Im glad it works for you, but for me the game is sooooooo laggy, the frame rate is terrible if it starts up at all=/ its a shame cause i really like these type of games.

I like the game and for the sale price it is definitely worth it. However, I understand alot of the frustrations. Mainly because the developers have not delivered the attention to the game that they promised to.

The low metacritic score is due to the game only being half-done on release, with the store page even listing features at release that werent patched in until 6+ months after release.

I cant personally comment on what the game is like now, since as with nearly all buyers, I have not bothered to go back and see if they have finally patched the game up to something resembling an entire product.

I can only assume Mords_Kadoffel purchased the game well after release, and is simply unaware of how much of the specific content he refers to was broken on release, and only fixed in patches months later. For example, the NPC to level up your characters was only added months after release, due solely to complaints to what was an intended game mechanic. Though all the bad comments may not be relevant now, they certainly were at release.

I have a feeling I may really like this game, I enjoyed fatsharks lead and gold alot, even claimed it as my favourite third person shooter of all time. I did not like hamiltons adventure though, I thought that was really mediocre and felt like fat shark didnt push the boundaries in that one.

I have a love/hate relationship with this game. It has beautiful art, great music and setting and addictive gameplay. I would wholeheartedly recommend it if wasn't for all the excruciating game braking bugs I had experienced. If you are thinking of buying it, download the demo first and try it out, especially if you have an NVIDIA 6 series gpu.

I invested over 40 hours in it and plan to go back if and when artifacts issue get resolved.

im insulted that they lied to us, if i remember correctly, they were first saying that they are a small team, they are dedicated to the game ect, than all of the sudden, fatshark develops war of the roses and krater gets forgotten in a matter of months without fullfilling on what was promised, but other than that, its an interesting game...just dont buy it for the coop
...and when i say interesting, i mean mediocre with the potential to be great if they just put in some more effort

I bought it sight unseen when it was new. And as much as I wanted to like it, it suffers from a huge lack of variety. Every battle feels the same, just tedious as hell. Don't bother.

I have it on extreme and it looks pretty damn good if your Diablo fan or Dungeon Siege etc the play is very simialar.. personally i am happy as hell i grabbed it.. looks really nice and for the sale price imo is well worth it to hack and slash away some time. go read the player reviews since its been patched and fixed and they are much higher

a simply amazing journey, yes, it's buggy but holly crap i've spent so much time getting to know these characters

For the sale price is worth buying. I played about 9hrs and it was a fun time. Love the soundtrack and atmosphere of the game. It could only be me, but I enjoyed the dialogue of the characters there are a lot of pop culture references. The only gripe I have is with the co-op since I've never been able to enter one. Also, I played the game in high 1080p on an ASUS g73jh-A1 laptop without issues (few occasional FPS drops when heavy mobs). Buy it;-)

Music is nearly a masterpiece...it fits the game sooo perfectly. And believe me... I play with controller alot, even FPS games, but this is just something amazing...great game :)

The release was, well, "buggy" would be putting it lightly. Fatshark was running low on funds and steam's early access didn't yet exist so they had to release it, but rapidly fixed the bugs and rate that was bloody impressive given the small team working on it.

What also didn't help is that many reviewers wanted a standard diablo/ARPG loot-fest, especially as the Diablo III release date was looming...
