How to kill a promising game
Step 1:

Promise:
1. a "living title," with frequent updates and new content
2. Co-Op
3. A Mac version

Step 2:

Deliver a buggy, un-finished game with none of the features listed above.

Step 3:

Take many months to deliver the features promised above, well after the reviews have come out panning the game and interest has died out among the gaming community.

Now I applaud FatShark for at least finally providing most of what they promised, but the fact remains that they shot themselves in the foot by releasing the game before it was ready (and by "ready" I mean provided the features they promised - bugs are another story).

I actually enjoy the game, but I also realize it could have been so much more, and so much better. This could have been the start of a true "living title," with frequent updates and DLC, but as it is, it's a dead-end, and a sad testament to poor planning and bad management.

The game was doomed as soon as the first reviews hit the Internet. A true testament to why releasing a game late is better than releasing it unfinished...

It's a single player game first and formost, the coop is just 3 missions, in that regard the game can never truly be 'dead' as anyone who buys it can get more or less the full experience.

Co-op was supposed to be more that just 3 missions, and ironically, I could care less about the co-op, but the game was a buggy unfinished mess when it was initially released, and while it has shaped up nicely in the many months since then, the botched release means that it never got the good word-of-mouth and reviews a title needs to catch fire, and because of slow sales, we never saw the free expansions or new content that were supposed to follow its release.

Me too. That's why I'm so angry about the botched release - it could have been so much more.

Thats why i never "promise" kids anything. All it does is bring tears to their spoiled little faces.

I've looked but I haven't seen anything that indicates that more updates aren't in the future. Granted, it seems very unlikely, but still have hope, until they "officially" say otherwise!

Yeah agreed. I had super high hopes for this game. I would liken it to torchlight however the difficulty spikes in gameplay the crazy enhancement system that didnt work right and was super hard to figure out and the co op that is so sad I never bothered with it. I still love the graphics and the idea behind it but the way it was turned out was a mess.
