They may actually be making a sequal, or they knew the old fanbase would grab at the chance to get it on PC like i did, for a quick extra buck, which wouldn't suprise me to be honest, worth the price anyway, i loved the game when i was younger, got a kick out of it now.
Lets assume though (Or hope) they put this game on steam, to hopefully bring people to the attention of perhaps a bard 2 :p
The recent re-release of this game on various platforms seems to be self-published by inXile, so they probably own the rights to the game (so they either never gave them up, or they reverted from the publisher). So presumably they have the right to make a sequel in future if they want to.
