That certainly is a WOW moment :-) But to me the best thing is getting all the old Bard's Tale games. I didn't have them and I have no idea where to get them for a reasonable price. So this is about the best possible news I could have gotten about this game. And to make it even better Wasteland 2 according to the game page is going to include the original Wasteland as well. inXile certainly do respect the nostalgia of their costumers :-)

I purchased this game last night in hopes of also getting playable versions of the original 3. I don't currently see those, though... how do I access them?

BT1-3 are such great games. For this price it's tempting to buy it to get those games. You can get those games via abandonware elsewhere so I'm curious to see how they play with this debut?

The "old bard's tale games" are the original trilogy. You access the these games from the in-game menu.

The old bard's tales games are probably worth it, the 'modern' bards tale was a complete piece of ... well you know what.

Wasteland was awesome.

I bought this just last night, because of the old games. Don't get me wrong, I played the new version on the PS2 back in the day, but the originals, Man those take me back.

So glad Steam put those in also.

I still play the originals via WinUAE (Amiga) emulator aswell as some TSR AD&D games.

The remake of this game though i recall had alot of issues and or was just plain bad, i am tempted to pick it up at this price though.

The main issue was the Name.
It's not a remake or even a real Bard's Tale game.
Its a parody game of typical Fantasy Hero RPGs.

Of course old fans wanted a real Bards Tale.

Your enjoyment depends entirely on how you like the Humor .
Without the humor the game doesn't really offer anything special.
Look at some YouTube videos and decide if you like the Humor or not.

I got it for the old games

How are the old games integrated with it? Worth it?

They can be started from the Main Menu, quite nice. Runs great so far, had no problems with Bards Tale 1 and 2 so far. Seems to be emulated quite well. All Faqs and Manuals are there as well, through a link.
Btw., I too got it for the old games ;) (actually quite smart move from them, or ? )

I also got the game for the original 3 games. The Ps2 Bards tale was semi-ok (not at all like the originals) but the first 3 were awesome at the time they came out. A step up from the wizardry series which I also loved. With a sale going on right now it only cost like $3 for the original 3 worth it to me. As far as the new game....I doubt i'll ever be desperate enough to play it again.

Has any game gone this long between official updates? this is almost akin to necromancy

Best parody game ever made. Actually has a mechanic where if loot spawns and you have better suff it just turns to cash instead of the BS run to town crap.

Just found out this was updated! Now I can finally play it after all this time!
