When did you first play the original Bard's Tale? Summer 1988 here
I was 13. I played it all summer long on a Commodore 128. When did you first play it?

I played the very limited demo version on the Spectrum 48k and liked it a lot. Never got the full version. Not sure what year. It was in the 80s, so i was, probably, 10 or 11 years old.

Never played the first two but remember playing the third one on my Amiga 500, probably around 1990.

I played the original Bard's Tale on an Apple IIe while working at KSMJ-AM 'Magic 1380 - Sacramento's Motown Connection'. I worked overnight two nights a week and during the winter there was not too much to do. We had very few local spots to play and so I got in about 40 minutes of playing per hour. One of the engineers was a gamer and set me up a table with a surge protector and made me promise not to miss a commercial break while wondering around Skra Brae! It took me all winter, but I finished it!

Wow, I had a Timex/Sinclair 1000 back in the day and can't imagine it running Bards Tale.

I played the Amiga version very soon after it was released. I don't remember the year, probably '86. The scrolling of the buildings as you walked down the street in town was like nothing ever seen to that point, and it was a great demo of the Amiga's graphics and animation abilities at the time.
