How to Defend Against Heavy Plasma
Hi All,

Just curious. what do people use to defend against Heavy Plasma weapons? The only fleets that give me trouble are fleets that heavily spam the Heavy Plasma guns. They have superior range and penetration. But, I havent found a shield/armor combo that can stop them!

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

They're crap at short range, you'll have to get in close.

Also a reflective shield should stop them, or a tier 2 armor but I'm not entirely sure.

I find that point blank range fighter swarms, emp, and longest ranged heavily tanked cruisers are the keys to most victories for me. If you are doing non campaign battles try stacking a bunch of fighters on a leading cruiser and put the rest of the cruisers behind him in a formation. Enemy comes along kills lead cruiser and voila fighter swarm is released. If enemy fighters attack early your fighters are able to use fleets tractors beams to assist. If using missiles on cruisers go for the one with at least 800m range and clump your fleet together so you are better able to alpha strike those first few enemies when they come into range

Also consider stacking formations of tank ships in front of dps ships. Dps ships should be as slow as the tanks, set to formation, have target boosters, and lots of high dmg long range missiles or guns. Tanks should go all in on armor and shields, with 1 tractor beam, 1 point defense, and 1 short range anti fighter laser. I only used this setup a few times, but I have seen a buddy stomp with it.
