It felt llike the online friends and loves I used to have. Sometimes you just rush to "see" each other and then over the years you just drift apart. It was sad.

Not much else to say about it. It felt like a sort of "goodbye" to the days where IM reigned and "social media" would probably have been the name of a boring high school class.

... Also, yeah. Emily is a typical high school girl. Not enough experience to know 'weird' from 'love' from 'don't want to see you again' or 'i just want you as a substitute for my own self-esteem for several years (so I can feel attractive without having to be your girlfriend)'.

People really need to learn to communicate honestly as soon as possible in their lives. At least it's better than being friendzoned for years, trying to keep some slim hope of something more happening.

Emily just can't seem to get her♥♥♥♥♥♥straight.

I established boundaries, told her to visit as friends and no alcohol she tells me "why didn't anything happen?"; I replay, don't establish boundaries, say there will be drinks "did you plan to f*ck me, you jerk?" ... Seriously Emily? No one can be that daft! This particular woman just can't make up her mind!

I'm a female and I just put my mindset into that of a guy as the creator intended.

But Emily did expect way too much out of me (the character) I can only assume I was the childhood best friend who never gets the girl after I found out she got back with Brad.

The game made me feel sad cause I know all to well what it's like to have friends change and leave, but I'm a bit annoyed that Emily did the very thing she said she hated.

I'm a female, and all I can say is this girl is insane! If she (or the player) just spoke up in the first place none of this BS would happen. That is how I have avoided the friend zone throughout my dating life.

I don't think playing as a girl really changed anything? If anything, I found it more relatable when I thought of myself as myself instead of as a guy. It also adds the relatablitiy of crushing on a girl who might be straight (she definitely might not be, but since you're the only girl she ever talks about romantically, it feels that way).

As for the rest of the game, I already posted my longwinded thoughts on it so I'm not gonna add any here.

Being 'helpless' to emotions is actually valued in English-speaking societies, from what I can see online. Because of this Emily will maybe never be taught to examine her feelings with logic and sympathy for what people she cares about go through. Emily acts on her feelings alone, with no logic, so she'll ultimately be short-changed by not examining her own desires vs. what would be practical for what she needs/wants in life.

Being un-friendzoned suddenly happens when the woman has a break-up, feels insecure or just had a big emotional upheaval of some sort. "It's a trap!"

Not at all, I didn't feel weird for me to play this game as a girl. (Not all girls who play this are heterosexual/heteroromantic!) The protagonist certainly wasn't limited to one specific gender - you end up placing yourself in the protagonist's role and how you react/your choices are based on your past experiences.

I found myself reminiscing my past experiences with loves/pals and anticipating the future - how much alike it will be when I graduate in high school and what will happen to the friendships I have currently.

Well, i didn't realize i was supposed to be a guy and then it hit me halfway through the game and i was like, ♥♥♥♥♥♥emily i thought you were a lesbian too" but nope so it felt mostly dissapointing i guess.

I didn't read anything about this game, so on my first walkthrough I just act like a girl best friend to her. I'm slow on these things, so I didn't really notice I was a guy until halfway the game. After playing a few more times, I'm fine with Emily being out of my life; I'm more disappointed that I'm not really friends with Emma or Mike anymore.

Doesn't matter what gender you are in game.
Emily will not be pleased
Elemec Dec 16, 2015 @ 5:13pm
And you'll not be able to say i miss you/do you miss me?
Saanzan Dec 16, 2015 @ 8:06pm
Use the randomize name feature and the names it gives you include girl names. So the game is meant for girls or guys doesn't matter.
