Misery mod: Cannot sell Artifact
Hello, and thanks for taking a look at this topic. Here's my problem: I only use quicksaves, so they overwrite each other. At my current save I'm always close to dying from radiation poisoning, received from the altered wheel artifact. Ican't stash it anywhere, and no trader is interested in it. I tried every container- no success. I've sold an artifact to Beard already, so it works. Is it a bug and I'll have to start an new game or am I just stupidly doing something wrong?
(I apologize for any mistakes, just imagine a german accent speaking this and it shouldn't bother you that much) Thank you for all your answers. :D

The altered wheel is a quest item for Beard and in the trade files list it as a NO TRADE to everyone. The only way you can get rid of it is through dialogue with Beard.

And I can only get the dialogue option before I get it? He says that he doesnt have any missions for today, and I didn't start the mission another time. Thanks for your answer though. I'll try some more dialogue option now, will be back soon.

Okay, I just checked it out: There are no dialogue options for beard and I didn't get the Mission from him. Anyway, there's a mission in my log called 'ask stalkers about artifact.' Even if there doesn't seem to be a option at Skvadovsk's stalker, I think I'll have to find someone who has the dlg. option. (Owl, maybe)

That's an interesting twist. In Vanilla you can just walk right up to beard with the artificat and give it to him through dialogue. Wonder wtf they did in Misery.

Yeah. I tried giving Tuna the artifact, shoot him, start the quest and come back. But someone keeps killing me by shooting right trough the smaller boat. I'm encumbered, so I cant run after him and kill him on the way, I dont have a backpack with me to stash weapons and my last save is the Skvadovsk arrival. I guess, the only way is giving Tuna the artifact and let him sell it. I hope, It isn't that valuable in Misery. No dlg. options by the way.

Okay, I gave It to him, survived, let him sell it, cured the radiation poisoning, followed him outside, killed him and his friends, teabagged him and took all of their gear. One of them even had a 2757 RU artifact on him, I think with their weapons, that should give me the lost money back. Wouldn't it be a great feature to misery if you could loot bodys for their money? Anyway, the bad news is, he didn't even give me a drink this time. So, again, thanks for your help.

One more thing. I dont know if the MP5k was added by the armed zone or was in the mod anyway. I'm german, so I can tell that it's not 'kurtz' but 'kurz' .
Does anyone have an Idea where I can post it so they correct it? It's not that important, and they'll find out sooner or later and include in their next Update- or just leave it that way.

Try to avoid quicksaves. They will bite you when they get corrupted. At least make a hard save at the beginning of the day. I usually make a save after picking up substancial loot that I don't want to lose by dying in a stupid way. You don't have to keep all of your hard saves-just the most recent ones.

Dude, there's a player stash box right above Beard's shop in a dim room...stash your ♥♥♥♥ in there lol

Strange about the wheel artifact tho. I had the same problem; but didn't realize I had to take it out of the container first lol

Also, don't be stingy on saves. I only use quicksaves when traveling to/from an objective just in case I get jumped or fall in an anomoly or something...I always have a save before leaving the base, and always before/after any battle.
You're only asking for more problems by only using one save

First: I'm back to making hardsaves. I just number them 1-100 an if I'm trough with those I just restart and overwrite.

Second: I said in the Threadnote that I CAN'T STASH IT ANYWHERE!!! I obviousley tried that, too. And again, I'm done ith quicksaves. About every big event (battles, arttifacts, quests, journeys, discoveries ) gets an extra save.

I have no idea what language is the native of the Misery Team but I do know that it is a misnomer in the english speaking world that the 'k' in 'MP5k' stands for 'Kompact'.

Yes, I've had this discussion before with several people. No they weren't just Americans. Some were even from Texas, Alaska and Australia!

ive played throught SoC and CoP a few times, recently coming back to CoP to play misery mod. i highly recommend it with the armed zone mod + misery if u want to play it really how it should be but i recommend playing vanilla first. anyway on the topic of broken missions, when u get to pripyat --- *spoiler alert* --- garry will stop u at some point on your way into the safehouse and tell u about some mercs that he travelled with. when u talk to the boss (cant remember his name starts with 'L'?) the dialogue options are there to trigger the 'one shot' mission. the one shot mission gives u a red card for X8 which is unique (if u loot the card). if u take the mission where u have to search for someone ( kindergarten mission ?) i believe that u lose the one shot mission option permanently for that game. if u have to inspect the body and eventually the kindergarten mission and u DONT DO IT QUICKLY the body will disappear and break the game i believe. this is were keeping saves is important. i think there must be a point if u take the one shot mission asap it is on the only way to finish it properly and keep future missions safe. took me about 4 goes to finish one shot mission and i ended up losing it, had to reload to early save to get story mission unbroken. i think misery affects accuracy too so when i got the dragunov for the one shot mission u arent guaranteed hits. unless the enemy armor was stopping a lot of damage. plus u have to kill 2 ppl before they escape
