What OS are you using? If on 7 delete the DX11 update. I can't remember the number off the top of my head but take a look on these forums and I've posted the KB update number. Also, be sure to turn god rays and sun rays to OFF and only start the game in your native resolution. Also make sure that fullscreen AA is OFF as well to boot it up. Once you get the game booted up mess around with the settings until you achieve a nice balance of what you're looking for. Keep in mind that even with an i7 and a 770 this game will treat it like a Pentium 1 and an onboard graphics chip. You'll have to go into the .ltx file to make sure the settings are set to off to start. First thing you need to do is delete that KB update if it's on your computer.

Also, how do I delete this KB update and Direct X one? I can't even get to the start screen of the game.

This here is nothing, its trying to find in the mod these files, if it can't it looks in the Dbase file.

How ever this is intressting....

[error][ 298] : Too many posts were made to a semaphore.

What is that? I never seen this as a error. I just looked in my log and this dosen't exsist as a working file.

I looked on line and it states this

In computer science, particularly in operating systems, a semaphore is a variable or abstract data type that is used for controlling access, by multiple processes, to a common resource in a parallel programming or a multi user environment.

Disable the mod your useing like this, "gameda_a".

Then see if the game will start up, if it dose, the mod maybe the issue..

I wiped ALL STALKER content from my PC reinstalled the lootable armor mod, the installed Atmosfear 3, ATmosfear 3 was causing problems, but I realized that the COMPLETE mod (total garvage btw) left a bunch of residue, so I had to uninstall all STALKER files like 3 times, hunting down reamnents of the COMPLETE mod, then I finished and I barely get this problem. Thanks for your help!

Stupid Xray engine... When will you stop messing with people? Anyways, alot of mods expect you to have administrator priveleges on. Try going into the steam folder and setting the X-ray.exe to admin. It can be found in the Stalker CoP folder/Bin. Set it to admin by right clicking and going under properties. Should hopefully fix the crash problem too. I don't know if it matters what DX you use. I used DX9 with admin off the first time I booted up. Windows 8.1. Seem to not matter afterwards. Its like it settled down and got comfy with my PC.

As for mods, I like stalker CoP reloaded. That one is pretty stable and fixes alot of script and bug errors. Plus it dosn't stray too far from vanilla Stalker CoP and it wont corrupt your saves.

Stalker complete isn't being worked on anymore and is an old mod. Too many problems with that one. Best to stay away. Hope this helps.

Hey. do you know any mods that fix bugs, change the HUD, and small stuff like that? I don't want my gameplay to be affected much, thanks!

Depends on what kind of mod you are running. I had been dealing with mods since the release of Shadow of Chernobyl on CD DVD. Some mods seem like it was thrown togeather so the author can just get a download someplace, other mods it seem the authors put more thought into it so it could be a great mod. Not all mods are perfact, and some will drive you insaine.
No matter what anyone says, that is just the way it is...

What you do is try a mod till you find one that suits you. After all, someone else can screem a rave about it, untill you try it and become a big dissapointed or melt down breaker. See what I mean?
