Random Radiation Bursts

I just started the game went to the sink thenm the boat and got those artifacts. So randomly I start gaining radiation I thought maybe it was the area i was in or the atrifact from boat it was +6 radiation. I went to the safe area in another ship (Safe Zone) sold the artifact walked around to the vendors and still randomly my radiation goes full. I used my med kits and then it slowly drops once i get almost empty it starts gaining again. Anyone else have a solution or had this problem.

I too was wondering this when i first started and I shortly found out afterwards that if you dont put artifacts inside of lead containers they will irradiate you to death also radiation is really pesky to get rid of after certain points of contamination. I hope this has helped you.

Radiation has to be removed from a person, simply selling the item in question or leaving an irradiated area won't stop the problem in the same way that leaving a thermal, psy or chemical area would. When you come in to contact with something radioactive you become irradiated yourself and you remain that way until you consume enough vodka or rad pills to remove it, become too irradiated and you will start to die.

Using medkits (unless they are the yellow science-issue medkits) will only bandage your burns and rehydrate you with fluids, but your radiation level will stay the same and your injuries will return. Always get the radiation down to at least the green icon before you start to use medkits or you won't really be healing yourself, just buying time instead.
