Misery Mod 2.2?
Not sure if anyone here would know about this but I was reading that misery mod 2.2 is suppose to be worked on. Is there any word as to a possible release date?

No.

What about going to the moddb page and read/ask there instead? There are progress reports, but devs are not giving any ETAs for a year or so.

I've given up on the mod. I used to love it, a lot but the bugs and problems caused by the mod, I Just can't deal with it anymore. I've heard of nothing for any updates for the mod, even from ModMD. No responses whatsoever from the devs. Cool mod but it feels dead nowadays. I'm just sticking with Arsenal Overhaul

it is really buggy and I can't get past the part where the guy is in the fridge. I open it up and start the talking but then it crashes. I tried all the fixes out there and even the one where you change the FOV to 10 in the config file didn't work. It is really annoying. I still love playing it though I just wish it didn't stutter so much and crash all the time. What is the Arsenal Overhaul mod like?

Think of it of a major gun overhaul with new textures, animations, new guns, ammo, items and has addons you can use like increased gun damage or stalkers all speak russian. It can be played with Atmosfear3, Absolute nature and Absolute structures. I was playing with a GTX 960 and i5-6600k and on max settings on 1080P 144hz, never onced stuttered for me. I personally really enjoyed the mod. The tons of new guns are really well textured and the animations are fantastic

MISERY 2.2 is near completion. Never does a post on MISERY's ModDb page go unanswered for longer than I sleep at night. The medic in the fridge is a super easy fix unless someone has been ignoring the plethora of advice about NOT using quick saves.
There will be no ETA's issued as repeatedly stated. There will be a release date announced when it is not an Estimate. Final demo/promo videos are being produced as I type.

Don't hold your breath honestly. Even when they do finally get around to releasing it, it's going to be a buggy mess. The amount of script ♥♥♥♥ they keep piling onto the engine makes it nearly impossible to play stalker the way people normally do. If your mod makes quicksaving a no go, you've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up somewhere. CoC got around this with a super simple system and it works. Over 100 hours through a single save and not one issue with save corruption. That being said, quicksaving isn't this horrible behemoth like people want to make it out to be. Don't get me wrong, it can and will cause save bloating after a while....but the real reason not to do it is just precautionary. Other than that there's no legitimate excuse as to why quicksaving would kill a playthrough. I quicksaved all the way through misery on my playthrough and did not have a single issue, others use the system a handful of times and get scripted event crashes....This is Misery's biggest issue. It's inconsistently ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ itself. Makes it a nightmare to bugfix for and an even bigger nightmare to try and help someone get around issues.

As for the " near completion " comment. It's been " Near Completion " for about seven months now if your MODDB and site updates are to be believed. Not trying to sound ungrateful or mean but we've heard it all before and quite frankly don't give a toss if you piss or go fishing at this point. People are looking for updates not " HANG ON.....ALMOST DONE.....* Banging noises * ALLLMOOOOOOSST THEEEEEERE " We get it, it's being worked on.....but you're acting like this is a project for a AAA publisher and you've all signed NDA's.....( Which btw if you have is hilarious )

If anything at this point it feels like these little ♥♥♥♥ teasers you keep throwing out is nothing more than a ploy to keep people from growing disinterested. Look it's misery...it's one of the most well known ( for better or worse ) mods for Call of Pripyat.....You don't have to keep wagging a carrot on a stick out in front of your fans to keep them interested. However, you should feel ( You being the team as a whole ) some need to give people something tangible BEFORE you throw the kitchen sink at them. People like weapon stats, armor values, artifact descriptions and effects, etc.....Just throw some at them, it's not much but it's 100x's more than what they're getting now. I say this as someone who's been waiting for Gunslinger....FFS I understand the hype but Gunslinger actually shows things off that it has in store every once in a while, if nothing else he pops his head out to say " Hey gotta go on hiatus because x, y, z....not dead, be back soon. " Whereas this has been going on for what? Three years now? The MDT twitter is dead...the facebook page is looking blue in the gills, and there's been what? Three to five updates on the mod since 2.1.1's release? In three years....that's not just an increase of bad communication, that kind of practice makes a company like SE look like PR masterminds. We've seen more updates from the Skywind team.

Well. If what they is truth, It's really been almost completed for more than a half of the year, but they spent a ton of time debugging stuff. The 2.2 beta is at the version of 22 or so already, if not more. I really wonder what are the changes if they spent THAT much time.

There is a fix for quick saves that takes less than a minute to do, works perfectly and uses the exact same key strokes. It has been published for years and is not a problem with the MISERY mod, but the save system.

What's this about quicksaves causing problems in Misery? I've dropped over a hundred hours into it, using quicksaves all the while and I've yet to run into any significant issues with it. I was also under the impression there wouldn't be any new updates for it either.

I've noticed that my game crashes when I load from quicksaves frequently, while it doesn't so often when I load from hard saves.

I think (and this is speculation) that quicksaves don't have quite as much information as a hard save, and so when you load it, the game "makes up" what it doesn't have.

Well so far I haven't been having crashes for either tbh. There's some occasional random crashes here and there (might be RAM related due to the limitations of the engine and 1440p, dunno) but none just from loading a save as far as I can remember. Does it just crash as soon as the map loads in or what?
