Does the game change mouse settings in Windows?

I lost function with my mouse immediately after playing this game, mostly with the middle button. For example, I could middle-click on a link in my web browser of choice, and it would open a new tab with that link, or I could middle-click on a tab, and it would close it. I can still use the wheel's scrolling function, but all the middle-click context actions don't work anymore.
